Ryokan Misato

Ryokan Misato offers a wonderful traditional Japanese experience in the heart of Kurokawa Onsen. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with its own toilet and a separate sitting area to relax in. The outdoor bath was lovely, and the staff were exceptional. Location opposite the only general store was handy too. The town itself is full of old-world charm, and you can either purchase the Kurokawa Onsen hopping pass to visit three different baths or simply pay individually at the onsens (we did this) that interest you. No need for a car once you're there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Good to know: We thought there'd be a lot more restaurant options, so we didn't book dinner or breakfast. However, we bought yoghurt, fruit, pastries, snacks, and drinks from shop across the road. Many restaurants have limited opening hours or close early, so it's best to eat an early dinner (suggest Warukuya). The walk into the main town—and to some of the best onsens—involves some fairly steep hills, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern.

Traditional Japanese ryokan. We loved it. The onsens are big and beautiful. The breakfast and dinner is delisious. True Japanese charm and hospitality.

Beautiful. Traditional. Clean. Warm. Too many positive things to say about our stay here. We love the ryokan dinner and it’s Onsen. There are two, one is outdoor public and another one that’s indoor. We tried both and love the experience. I know I couldn’t have chosen a better ryokan. The staff also provided a map and told us it’s the last night of the night festival and the timing. So it was really helpful for the planning and we got so many beautiful photos. Thank you please keep up the good job.

Traditionell, sauber und schöne Atmosphäre. Die Onsen Optionen (sowohl outdoor, also auch indoor) waren perfekt. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser besonderer Dank gilt an Yasuko, die uns stets betreut hat.
