The environment was beautiful and calm, very relaxing! We very much liked and enjoyed the private Onsen. The food was not the best we have had, but absolutely ok. I suppose the food is very traditional, which is reasonable!
The stay is well overpriced!!

This place is a real paradise in the middle of the woods near the river. We enjoyed the hot pools and also the private pools in the very comfortable rooms. The food was fantastic, beautifully presented and served. An extra bonus were the hiking trails nearby which we could reach on foot.
Staff was lovely and helpful and even spoke a little English. The price was higher than the other Ryokans, but it was worth every penny.
Not much. Maybe deck chairs on the balcony would have been nice to be able to relax outside after a dip which is pretty much the only thing I can think of.
