There was no breakfast
There were no toiletries in the bathroom, not even any soap by the sink. The accommodation was very basic for the price. The towel smelt of smoke. I had messaged the pub via booking.com a few days in advance to let them know if my time of arrival and asking if food would be available. My request was acknowledged and 'accepted'. On arrival my message had not been received by the staff, and there was no food. This was very disappointing. I explained that I would be leaving at approx 8.30am the next morning. My only exit was out of fire doors after removing the chair holding the doors together after complaining about having to exit via a metal fire escape from the second floor with all my luggage. There were no staff available in the morning and the pub was locked up. No-one was apparently on duty. I am not of the impression that this pub is really in a position to be offering accommodation.

Nothing it’s in desperate need for a refurb
The my room had suffered a roof leak and the ceiling and walls were damp with paint peeling from the walls. I was in room 7 and room 6 wasn’t in use and was a much better room with no damage, why they didn’t put me in room number 6 I don’t know. This is a £30-40 room not nearly 90 with no option of breakfast.

The owner and his staff were so lovely and helpful. The room was great, it was surprisingly easy to find too.

Not a lot to like. Reviews online are misleading.
This place doesn't look like it's been updated since the 1970s. Really uncomfortable bed. The shower barely worked - either a good flow of freezing water or a trickly of warm water. The kettle only worked when propped against something. Despite what the booking website says, there is no breakfast. Very noisy -woken by slamming doors and loud conversations at 1am. Exit and entry via a so-called fire escape that certainly doesn't meet regulations. We stayed here for convenience as there was a family party at the venue. There are some nice pubs in the area with accommodation that is up-to-date and includes breakfast for a better rate - try there!

It was perfect

I liked the location to where I needed to be which is as near St Mary’s nursing home. I liked the land lord (Richard), very friendly.
A little tired. It was practical but needs some upgrades.

nice to relax in a proper pub, spa hotels are good too, but the warm atmosphere was what we needed
they seemed a bit rushed taking us up, the main business is clearly the beer

It was all fine.

Very friendly and welcoming. Liver and onions and Steak Pie washed down with a few pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord and a walk along the canal made for a restful night.
No breakfast available

Very friendly staff
To be fair the price was low. I had what I needed to stay for one night.

The location is beautiful and has a lot of potential.
The room looks dirty, the sheets have stains on it, the towels provided smells of long used towels.
We were 2 couples with 2 separate rooms.
1 couple had to come back to London as the room was filthy and the bed was full of insects and when mentioned to the staff, they said they couldn't rent the room anymore because of that but sadly didn't have anymore rooms available.
On top of it, they haven't provide a refund for one of the room despite our friends didn't use it. We asked for it but the staff said that in the morning the cleaner didn't mention anything so for them there was no problem.
Overall, very poor experience which is a shame as the location has a great potential.

Staff were pleasant
I arrived after the advertised check in time to find my room still being cleaned, the furniture is outdated (polite way of putting it), very basic.

Supper was simple and plentiful.
The room was tired and so cold. The sink was blocked and the shower screen broken. The whole place needs cleaning from the sticky tables upwards.

Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and modern.
There was no information in the room about what to do in the event of a fire and no information about how to contact anyone if there was a problem. No WiFi.

The food.
Turned up room wasn't cleaned gave us a different room. No loo roll. Told us to scrub shower as been bleached with full bottle earlier that day. Milk was mouldy no spoons. Handle fell off door for bath room, hook broken on bathroom door, room a grubby mess. Music blaring til gone 12am onwards when bar shut.... Below the room.
Agreed to refund via booking.com now refusing to refund. Avoid.

The people were friendly and welcoming.
The room was ok, we had two dogs with us, one found an old nut in the room and the other a fake eyelash where the room hadn't been properly cleaned before. The music downstairs was loud and went on until at least 12.30am and the bed was not a double as advertised, but two singles pushed together.
