ArdoVel Park Hotel

The location is fabulous with superb views from its high vantage point across the valley to the mountains across the other side, and with higher mountains in the distance. The food was excellent, and the spa facilities marvellous for the size of the hotel. We so enjoyed the steam room, sauna and relax area. The family who run the hotel are very dedicated to making your stay most enjoyable, and we adored little Eileen, their nine year old grandchild, who seems entirely capable of running the hotel all by herself! We so enjoyed the hot thermal waters in their beautifully clean and warm indoor and outdoor large sized swimming pools. The gardens are well kept and very lovely. We were made to feel like friends rather than paying guests, and nothing was too much trouble to our hosts. The walks to and from the Chepino suburb centre and shops down below did us good, as the roads down to them are steep and it was good exercise getting back up the steep hill to the hotel.

A small fridge in the room would have been an added bonus, but we managed without it. Communication was a little difficult with everything needing to be translated via cellphone or laptop, but little Eileen was surprisingly fluent in English for her age and she assisted us a lot. The roads up to the hotel are very potholed, narrow, and steep, so care is needed when driving up and down them.
