You get what you pay for!

Location - perfect for our needs. Price - felt about right for quality of property.

House could do with a bit of TLC… a new front door (didn’t feel overly solid!), beds were not comfortable and there was some broken furniture in the house. I’m not overly convinced the place was cleaned properly before we arrived as we found rubbish on sofa and at side of beds. Also, TV controller was missing batteries etc.

Basic but nice for one night

Easy to collect keys on arrival with the lockbox, details were sent over to me on the morning of the booking. Location perfect for getting to the city for exploring. Good size rooms for two people, and ample free parking on the road just outside. Its worth highlighting for others that there is a £300 security deposit taken from the company however I did this on a credit card and it just pended on my account for a few days, by 3 days post our visit this had been returned. We don't have huge opinions to be honest on this house, as a whole for one night it was basic but clean. The photos shown on here are very much for show and display images as when we walked into the real thing it didn't feel as homely as it could have been, its just a little tired around the edges.

The one challenge we did come across was that we were looking into getting an early check in and late check out. We were told through a chat on booking.com with the agent there would be a charge of £20 for each of these, so £40 total. We were happy to pay this. The issue we experienced was that they wouldn't send over a booking link for us to pay this, they wanted us to pay via banks transfer. Numerous phone calls were attempted but none of the phone numbers found on here and online would connect. I asked again for a booking link so I could make the payment and was answered by the same reply copied and pasted providing me with the banks details for a transfer. Feeling very uncomfortable with this without speaking to someone, and none of the phone calls connecting we changed our plans and stayed with the original check in and check out times.
