Watkin - Snowdon Cabins - cozy chalet - Glan Gwna, Caernarfon

Glam Gwna resort is amazing and really made our stay. The location is perfect and a short drive from many destinations. The pool is spotless and the entire resort has a really great family feel to it. The onsite restaurant and bar are fantastic and the resort is a beautiful walk in its own right. In terms of the chalet itself, it served our purpose as a very active family of 4. We did not run out of electric and found the water heater easy to use. The bathroom looks recently refurbed and the cooker and kitchen appliances were in good working order. The hosts were responsive and we were able to check in an hour early.

Unfortunately there is nowhere in the entire chalet where you can hang your clothes and very little storage furniture. There is one set of drawers in one bedroom but nothing in the other bedroom at all. It wasn’t great having to line out of suitcases. The kitchen had a lot of pans but only one knife - a single bread knife. Also needs a colander. The entire chalet needs a really thorough deep clean, even though it was superficially clean, when you moved furniture you were greeted with cobwebs and dust. It all felt a bit sticky… it clearly suffers with condensation and the wallpaper is peeling in several places. Some of the furniture was not good build quality and had a flimsy feel to it, while other pieces were nicer. The beds weren’t comfy but did have thick mattress protectors on, I assume to try to help the situation. Overall, we would stay at Glan Gwna again in a heartbeat but would choose different accommodation. I feel for the money and what was available at the resort, it was overpriced. It was fine for us, but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t out of the house all day every day.

Het huisje lag op een prima lokatie vlak bij het centrum van Caernarfon en heel dicht bij Snowdonia. We hebben genoten van alles wat er in de buurt te beleven viel. Het huisje zelf was klein, maar groot genoeg om met 4 personen te verblijven. Alle voorzieningen en benodigdheden zijn aanwezig. Alles perfect geregeld. Wij hebben geen problemen gehad met elektriciteit of warm water.

Lovely well lade out and comfortable has everything you need so no need in taking a lot of stuff and very clean and cozy we loved it.

Wir haben die Unterkunft ausgewählt, da sie sehr zentral für Ausflüge in die Umgebung gelegen ist. Angelsey, die Llyn-Peninsula und Snodownia sind nach kurzer Fahrtzeit zu erreichen. Der Holiday Park ist schön gestaltet. Wir waren auch im Pool, der angenehm warm beheizt ist. Es ist ein Shop und ein Cafe + Restaurant vor Ort. Vor dem Mobilhome gab es immer ausreichend Parkplätze.

In der Unterkunft war alles klamm und feucht. Alle Gegenstände, die wir dabei hatten, waren nach 4 Tagen klamm. Obwohl es draussen zwischen 25 und 30 Grad hatte, war der Fußboden immer sehr kalt, so dass scheinbar die Luftfeuchtigkeit darauf kondensierte. Dadurch war es sehr unangenhem auf dem kalten und feuchten Boden barfuß oder mit Socken zu gehen. Innnen war ordentlich geputzt, aber die Unterkunft hätte eine Sanierung dringend nötig. (u.a. kaputte Deckenleuchten, die durch Stehleuchten ersetzt wurden, sehr altes Bad). An der Küchenzeile hat es nach Urin gerochen (aus dem Spalt zwischen Kühlschrank und Arbeitsplatte). Der Aussenbereich war sehr ungepflegt. Alles war voller Spinnweben. Es sah so aus als wäre nach dem Winter nicht sauber gemacht geworden. Die Möbel für draussen waren nur ein Tisch mit 4 Hockern, ohne Lehne. Diese mussten wir auch selbst sauber machen bevor wir sie benutzen konnten. In der Küchen gab es nur 2 Teelöffel und keinen Topf in den Nudeln für 4 Personen passen. Ansonsten war die Ausstattung ausreichend. Den Hinweis, dass man zusätzlichen Strom selbst zahlen muss hat mich vor dem Checkin erschreckt, da ich bei Booking vorher nichts darüber gelesen habe. Da wir nicht heizen mussten, kamen wir mit dem vorhandenen Budget aber locker aus (4 Personen mit Duschen, Kochen und etwas Fernsehschauen) und die Kontrolle des Stromzählers war unkompliziert.
