Upton Grange Townhouse

Ideally located for all of my needs.

NA - everything was lovely.

The location is perfect for visiting Chester zoo and the wider area, including RSPB Burton Mere. We appreciated the proximity of three pubs for evening meals, including the Brewers Arms offering Indian meals, a refreshing change from the usual pub menu. The ensuite room at the top of the house was small but comfortable and clean. In extremely hot weather the table-top fan was a godsend. The availability of the kitchen for breakfast preparation was helpful and we also enjoyed drinks in the garden later in the day. The pre-arrival detailed instructions regarding access were clear and the accommodation provided is excellent value for money. Our two-night stay coincided with the World Cup semi-finals but we were not disturbed by noise either inside or outside the property.

The description of the property is misleading at times, regarding which facilities are provided within rooms and what is available communally. For example, the photo of a breakfast tray in the ensuite room gives the impression that the room has coffee-making facilities, when in fact the tray would have to be carried up two flights from the kitchen on the ground floor. Similarly the provision of a hairdryer cannot be guaranteed, if a previous guest has left it in another locked bedroom.

The location was ideal. Parking outside property. Good facilities.

We found the mattress very soft. Three floors up and down to the kitchen facilities

Over three floors is not an ideal layout for our age group to reach the bathroom

No en-suite.. not ideal to leave the room for the toilet during the night
