The hotel is located in the historic centre of the village; it is very easy to find. It is located near to restaurants, shops and other facilities. The hotel has a free secure car park in the hotel grounds and is easily accessible. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable with good facilities. The hotel itself is superb and is very pleasant with a wonderful ambiance. It also has a large restaurant, where we ate a wonderful four course meal. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice of food and beverages.
Nothing.

Location, elegance of room and dining room
Very few guests and a slightly run down atmosphere. Dinner a little disappointing.

The whole place felt tired and needed a refurbishment and redecoration.

Superb meal and wine at the restaurant. Lovely big bed with fantastic view over the Seine. Great pillows, loved the decor and ambience and enjoyed the breakfast.
Nothing. I would recommend every time.

Breakfast was not very good.
Catering facilities in general, but we had only one breakfast which could have been an aberration

The location was fantastic, right in the centre of the beautiful Andelys. Although the hotel was a bit dated it didn't matter as it was in keeping with the town. We had dinner on the terrace, right by the river, a perfect location.
Nothing really, it was all enjoyable.

Delicious, creative dinner taken outside on the shady terrace. Fabulous Seine views and promenade. English spoken. Secure parking in courtyard. Lively local bar just across the street.
No tea/coffee making facilities in room, nor bottled water. Interesting individual room decor but bathroom had some loose fittings, shower temperature was unreliable. It was very hot and there's no AC or fan. Unfortunately some local drunks congregated on the river bank just below our window and loudly spoilt the tranquility of the late evening. WiFi showed security issues and was unreliable.

a nice hotel with excellent friendly staff and very nice restaurant food. The hotel is a little faded and need of some modernising

Breakfast was good. Would have liked more variety but this was probably limited as few guests were staying.
Very bad weather while we were staying. Not something the hotel could do anything about! December seems to be a poor time for choice in rural France - restaurants closed etc.

The hotel is in a wonderful building on the banks of the River Seine. There is a restaurant with an excellent menu. Breakfast was also good. I had a problem with a leak in my bathroom. My room was changed quickly and without fuss. I hope to return.
My old legs struggled with some of the stairs. Help was on hand to help with luggage, however.

The location is lovely on the north bank of the Seine. There is a quay for the river cruise boats, which stop by for their passengers to get of a tour the region. We hired cycles for a ride along the river path towards St Pierre-du-Vauvray
We were disappointed to be charged $30 for a breakfast we didn't actually eat, just because we had said the night before we would have breakfast. If you change your mind at this hotel you clearly need to tell them or you will be charged.

Exceptional gourmet dinner in lovely dining room overlooking the river Seine
Shower was a little fiddly to regulate and cubicle a bit small. Breakfast didn't start until 8.30

La Chaîne D’Or is beautifully situated on the banks of the Seine and is a hotel with old world charm. it’s definitely worth booking a room with a river view!

Big, spacious room. Excellent food and service. Very friendly, attentive staff. Wonderful breakfast, fantastic location, perfect start to our holiday.

Superb hospitality from the owners and staff. Very warm atmosphere, traditionally French in all areas. Very dog friendly. If a soulless chain hotel is required, don’t stay here. Excellent location and steeped in major French/English history. Bilou the hotel cocker spaniel completed the perfect stay.
Nothing, all was excellent.

The views are lovely and the location was super handy. The man as t reception was helpful.
The furnishing is a bit out dated (especially the bathroom) and room smelt a bit misty.
The breakfast was not worth the money at all. The fruit were a bit dry, the bread seemed pre backed.
Some of the staff were very impatient and a bit rude.
Internet/ WiFi simply did not work.

Like most French establishments this was continental but extensive.
Excellent juices and coffee.
An historical town and the property matched that view.
All the staff were extremely helpful and attentive.

I think the breakfast does not match the high standard set at dinner, my only slight complaint.

Location - right beside a river.
So this is actually a very tired and old B&B which is possibly called a hotel because it has a restaurant. The host (the gentleman) is kind, knowledgeable and well meaning, but this place needs more investment and energy.
Small, sad rooms with thin lumpy cotton pillows, draperies that need a wash, and curtains that have lost their hooks.
Horribly over-priced restaurant - Parisian prices for that location?! 30 Euos per head - really?
A casual approach to client service - no check in desk, half the dining room tables being covered with papers and laptops of the owners, family eating dinner in dining room before it opens so you tiptoe past as you access the terrace, lady taking drinks orders with surly face and stained chef jacket. Basically we felt like we were intruding in someone's home.
Very poor breakfast - bottled juice, watery coffee, a sad basket of bread and an even sadder basket of fruit.

Wonderful hotel in magic setting. Accommodating convivial hosts. Made to feel special but the evening meal was very disappointing. We have stayed before and will stay again because we love the hotel.
The evening meal was mediocre and the wine menu was very expensive. Sorry but our food was cold.

- Spacious rooms (for French norms)
- Lovely location near the Seine ( if you take the rooms with Seine view)
- Good location to visit town (very central)
- Perhaps we expected too much from the dinner, but this was perhaps a bit overrated compared to expectations. It was not bad, just not spectacular or anything.

The building itself is perfection in terms of arrival facade and decor of interior. loved the interior colors and specially the breakfast room .
Three minor suggestions :
1. Top home made bread for the dinner - the Saturday evening bread roll was mediocre and no butter .
2. Bread was fine for breakfast but orange juice should be fresh at these prices . Coffee served was nice but could be hotter .
3. One bottle of water in the bedroom would be nice . I appreciate the running of a small hotel leaves small profit for the owners but these three suggestions would cost perhaps 2 euros per room .
Otherwise we loved the comfy beds and bed linen and adored the adjoining Église St Sauveur 12th c
-very special .
