It’s a lovely old building over looking the sea .with a large lawn and a 20 minute beautiful walk into town . Eating outside at night at the restaurant was lovely after a long drive . Very friendly staff too .
The breakfast was pretty poor .. coffee from a giant thermos flask for instance .. small selection of things to eat .adequate but uninviting .. sitting outside was nice though and staff are very friendly.the views though are spoilt by the ugliness of the Havre which is across the bay .. no way can you not notice it . We didn’t swim because of the colour of the sea though plenty of people did and there was a fun beach restaurant . Dinner was delicious but overpriced . We had a very good recommendation for the next evening in town . Our bed was made up but dirty coffee cups not taken away nor changed . Still I liked the look of the hotel and the fact you could sit outside on the lawn and relax .

Beautiful building and we were upgraded to a room with a lovely sea view. Room was a good size and a very comfortable bed. Good bathroom too.
The restaurant was really expensive for what you got. It was fairly quiet so not much atmosphere. The wine list was extensive but really expensive. Breakfast was ok.

All the staff are great and very helpful. Lovely hotel. Lovely restaurant, food very good. It is about a 20 minute walk into Honfleur from the hotel, but the road that runs along the side of beach has a good path and is flat

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location. What was even better was the welcome and ongoing care we received from the staff, and particularly the owner Bridget who simply could not have done enough for us throughout our stay. We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to the separate little suite which made our stay extra-special. The food both nights that we ate in the restaurant was exceptional. A very special long weekend indeed.

Our room was on the second floor. The bedroom was an excellent size with a lovely view of the garden and beach. We also had a balcony with chairs and table. The fact that on the opposite side of the river was obviously industrial didn't bother us - it was far enough away not to be an issue and it is a port after all. The hotel is situated with easy access to the beach via a tunnel under the coast road. We enjoyed walking along the beach to the river wall next to beautiful gardens. From there it is a flat walk all the way into town. We really enjoyed our meal on the Sunday evening - excellent portions and quality.
We' would have liked a bath as well as a shower given a fairly long drive from the tunnel. As seems to be typical in France the restaurant is only open 5 days a week so it is shut on Tuesday and Wednesday (although I got confused and thought it was Monday and Tuesday!) The booking.com confirmation says it is open every evening, but the hotel confirmation clearly states that it isn't. However there are plenty of places to eat in the town and there is a bar/restaurant on the beach near the hotel but we didn't try it. It was a shame that the hotel bar didn't appear to be open every night either. It is in the same building as the restaurant at the end of the hotel garden so there is just free coffee and tea in the hotel lounge and no bar food either. We were a bit concerned about security. If reception was unmanned the front door wouldn't close securely from the inside and room keys were just kept in a basket by the reception desk. However there was a safe in our room.

Location clean and good staff
Front reception could be spruced up a bit

The sorroundings, the garden, the room view.
The smell and the quality of the room. Wanting to preserve authenticity does not mean not maintaining or making cheap repairs. Very expensive for what they offer.

Location
Not well maintained rooms (doors not working properly), very poor breakfast, no swimming pool, the restaurant works 3 days a week

location was superb. room was spacious with modern style bathroom
furnishings were tired, although in keeping with the style of the building. the bar and restaurant were separate from the main building and closed. limited choice at breakfast with rationed amounts of cheese and meats and juice. no decaf option for coffee.

it looks nice from the outside but looks are deceiving !
No 5 star hotel i have ever been in didnt have a bar. Didnt have a mini bar either.
I asked where could i have a drink and I was shown some garden furniture outside reception.
I asked for a local draught beer, hardly a demanding request really in a five star hotel but no, they only do bottles.
ok so no great shakes what do you ? oh we have Corona and we have Desperados.
So what else? We dont have anything else.
At this point i found the entire Basil Fawlty thing come over me. So i am in a wonderful looking French Chateau in a great part of France and the best and only two beers they can come up with are those two ? seriously?
It is no more than a house in one place with rooms in it and you breakfast in the shared reception room and the restaraunt is another building totally. Good luck if it is raining.
There was no toilet in the main hotel lower lobby we were told to go over the road to the restaraunt.
The duvet was full of lumps and had to be changed.
The toilet hadnt been cleaned properly and had "hairs" in it. Yuk!
I was tired after a long journey and really needed sleep but the guy wouldnt give me the key and i asked three times. He insisted on coming up to the room to show us how a light switch worked.
I think the biggest lie is the distance from Town. The 10 minute i was repeatedly told and sold on turned out to be 20 minutes to the edge and 25 into the centre and i dont walk slowly either.
This is NO 5 Star hotel by any stretch of the imagination, i cant work out how it can say it is.

The hotel is set in a lovely location. Beautiful rooms and the restaurant area very pleasant. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the lady at breakfast on the last day gave us a tip about visiting the church in the woods above the hotel which we enjoyed seeing.
It really is a lovely hotel. Not really a question of what we didn't like but a couple of comments. One thing when we got back each night was that there was a lovely fire going in the sitting room but nobody was on reception to ask for an evening drink. We might have also found it helpful to have a little information about what to do or see in the area.

A great location with a brilliant restaurant on site and a 20min walk to Honfleur. The staff were absolutely fantastic, especially Florent, and we felt very well looked after.

Amazing staff! Very very friendly! Nice place and nice atmosphere. Unforgettable view! Perfect croissants for breakfast.
Problem with water in the room. Pressure was not enough to take shower. Even to wash hands was a problem. The receptionist told us this is normal.

A beautiful hotel. An excellent location, about a 20 min walk into the centre of Honfleur. Everything about this hotel is excellent but the staff make it exceptional. They were all so welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay so special. We will definitely be coming back.
Having to leave to come home.

Great location. Staff were excellent.
Lovely building.
Restaurant closed on the days we stayed. Booking.com did not let us know, so we didn’t know until after we booked. Nice walk to town though so no big deal.
No air con in room and there was a heatwave.

The person who welcomed us, a gentleman with glasses and dark hair, was absolutely exceptional. This was our first time in France and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. He gave us amazing recommendations for places to eat and was amazing from check in to check out
Absolutely nothing

The room had water views as across the grounds which are beautiful. The restaurant was fabulous and the breakfast included large selection off breakfast foods. The one drawback was there is no air conditioning in the rooms and we were there during a heat wave. There was a large fan in the room which helped. The front desk staff couldn’t have been more pleasant!
No air conditioning
