Very special place in a former post office, well located at the river Seine
There was a somewhat strange smell in the bathroom

The room and the bed were okay. The view from the terrace as well.
Our stay was a huge disappointment. The welcome wasn't exactly friendly. The owner said the kitchen would close soon because it was "too hot." If we wanted to order anything, we had to be quick.
When we asked if coffee would be available at 7:00 AM, the owner responded with a barrage of words telling us we really couldn't ask. Did we realize how busy she'd been since March 15th?
Breakfast was truly meager: 2 pieces of baguette, 1 croissant, a small bowl of jam, and a tiny yogurt, for 4 days straight, and no variety whatsoever. And all that for €150.00 per night.
Upon entering the hotel, you have to take off your shoes and put on hotel slippers, which others also wear. Very unhygienic.
The house cat roams the hotel, steals things from the breakfast table, and even came into our room once. During the four nights we stayed, our room was never made up, and we never received clean towels.
On the terrace, you could only order something at the hostess's table before sitting down. It was all very suspicious. Moreover, the menu literally stated that carafes of tap water couldn't be served because it posed a significant bacteriological risk. But in our hotel room, we had to make do with tap water, which was very strange.
The terrace was filled with far too much discarded furniture. Pictures on the website didn't match reality.
We unfortunately had paid for 4 nights in advance, otherwise we would really have gone after 1 night.
Luckely there was enough to be seen in the region, so we were able to make some nice daytrips. Close to the hotel there we enough fine terraces and restaurant that did please us and do know what hospitalty really means.

Beautiful garden looking out on the seine.
There was a toilet in our bedroom!

It is a very unfriendly place. We were made to take our shoes off on arrival and wear sliders to walk up to our room. We were repeatedly and stridently told we were not to put our luggage on the bed. And the breakfast was small and lacking in choice. The whole place had a mean vibe.

The location was very pretty in a delightful spot right on the river Seine, in a pretty village, with beautiful historical buildings. The house itself was an old hotel with so much history. There are plenty of activities such as walking, cycling, exploring the village and the castle or just enjoy the garden. We enjoyed dinner there after a long day on the road.
Being a private home there were some requests from the hostess such as removing outdoor shoes and not putting suitcases on the bed, which I can understand, just be prepared to bring indoor shoes.
Also our room was on the corner by the road which was noisy even at night.

Very pleasant location in small town along the Loire a Vélo cycle route with secure storage for our bikes. Lovely hosts Maria and Laurent prepared a delicious platter dinner with wine and home made apple pie for us as it was Sunday night and we were cyclists. We also enjoyed a very nice breakfast the following morning before an easy ride back to the cycle track. A very welcoming, friendly and homely stay.

Really nice hotel with a lovely garden near the river, fantastic location and rooms to high standard
Very expensive dinner in the garden which was clearly warmed up frozen ready meals (kitchen has 5 microwave ovens !).
Too many quirky restrictions such as don't drink the water, no cases on the bed, take shoes off at hotel front entrance etc

This was the best stay of our 2 weeks in Europe. Only wish we'd planned more than 1 night. The dinner was delicious. The outdoor garden patio was a great place to relax and dine while our kids ran in the grass by the river. The owner and her husband were delightful, making great recommendations - from local drinks to the best after dinner walk around town. The family bedroom exceeded all my expectations - we felt like royalty with the cleanliness, comfort, and beautifully designed space. There was room to relax, play, and eat in the room so we didn't feel stuck on top of each other or like all we could do was fall in bed.

The location.
A lack of generosity on the part of the owner. Certainly not prepared to put herself out.
Small portions and high prices.
A commercial attitude as opposed to a demonstrated pleasure in hosting. Why work in the hospitality business?

Nice location near the Seine

Excellent location on the rIver in picturesque village. Bed and bedroom were comfortable.
With no other restaurants open on the evening of our stay we opted for a meal at La Villa Alienor. It was quite simply not up to standard and not worth the cost. La Villa is probably more suited to afternoon teas than evening meals, and the drinks were far too expensive.
Although free internet is advertised there was rarely any connection.

Nice garden but just felt all could be so much better. Effort to make the room nice had been made but it lacked any soul.
As it was a Sunday evening, restaurants locally were mainly closed so we ate at this hotel. I had risotto, it was awful. It came only 5 minutes after I ordered so it can’t have been cooked from fresh and like no risotto I have ever made - I didn’t eat it. Dessert of tarte tatin was nice. River cruises on the Seine stop right outside the back garden.

The hosts were able to accommodate a last-minute reservation due to a change in our schedule.
Wifi connection didn't work.

Comfy beds and the location ruined by the terrible host.
ATTENTION! The communication with the owner was offensive. We were met with reluctance. Once the host learned we were from Eastern Europe, she was visibly displeased. She even implied we would contaminate her beds with bed bugs and she physically removed our bags away from the beds. Later, she was visibly annoyed with even the sight of us. When we couldn't open the gate, she pretended not to see us while all the visitors watched. On top of that, they require all guests to remove their shoes, which left the hallway extremely smelly. I would describe the style of the establishment as tacky and cluttered with unnecessary and unclean decor.

Breakfast was nice with fresh croissants. Room was pleasant and clean.
There was a fair directly behind the property which made it less tranquil but that is obviously not the fault of the property.

Only the location.
Patronising hostess. Dark depressing room with sub-standard furniture. Toilet separate to bathroom with no hand wash facility. Dangerous sharp edges on broken fire surround.
Bad wiring on bedside light.

The location and the friendliness of the owner.
Facilities were poor, only one small hand towel between the two of us, door knobs that have come loose, fixed with nails sticking out, a shower head that doesn’t stay up so ended up having to hold it, the hand soap empty. I felt the room was definitely not worth the money.
