Great little gem

Great quiet location in a valley surrounded by forest and the Kall river. Not much to do besides nice long walks, swim in the hotel pool or use the gym....and take it easy. Breakfast is outstanding, staff very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Hotel restaurant has great food, rather pricey though for dinner.

We were on a short holiday, the seminar attendees were very noisy at times.

Perfect for a weekend!

- The location is wonderful! - Staff were very friendly, both at the reception and the restaurant. The food was really tasty even though overpriced. - The room was comfortable and the fitness/wellness are was more than adequate.

- It's not that I didn't like...but there could be small improvements. For example a coffee machine in the room. - Sauna/wellness rules were not really respected by other hotel customers (children, no swimming suit etc) - Pool water temperature was a bit chilly but that's personal I guess. Honestly these are details and in no way did they make our experience less than wonderful.

Lovely place for a short stay

Hotel was lovely. Well maintained, comfortable, cosy spa area with covered outdoor section (was lovely during the heavy rain as to enjoy the greenery and the sound of the rain from under the blanket). Breakfast and restaurant both had very good quality food, even if the dinner menu was limited for me due to dietary restrictions.

Location was the biggest challenge at the end. With the only other place to have dinner in town going on holiday as we arrived you either always have to eat at the hotel or drive somewhere (on workdays might be a longer ride as limited openings in the surroundings as well).

Nice area, different hotel next time; because we would like to feel welcome

Good Breakfast Good breakfast, nice location for hiking: the hotel is situated in a valley in the Eifel which really is a beautiful area. There is a nice wellness area that closes a bit early though.

The staff was not so friendly; they couldn't give you a seat in an almost empty restaurant. If you asked why, you would get an annoyed response. It almost seemed like non-German people were less welcome. When we entered the reception on our first day, the very first comment was, ' Oh, there are the people who changed the date of their booking two times.' Furthermore, the prices, especially compared to other regional restaurants, were exorbitantly high, and the food was not better than the competition.

Book this place with your eyes closed.

This place is amazing. I've never had such a perfect stay with a service that is normally much more expensive. The surrounding is great, the hotel has everything you need for a relaxed weekend or week and for a price that defies any competition. You can book thus place with your eyes closed. You'll thank me later. Did I say that the diner and breakfast were amazing? Yes, they are. Ingredients are locally sourced, and the taste is just amazing.

Honestly, there is nothing to dislike.

Superb hotel with fantastic service in a beautiful location,

The rooms were very nice and spacious, but the service was absolutely phenomenal. I've been lucky enough to travel with my work and stay in some of the best hotels in the world, but the service here was the best ever. I have never really stayed anywhere where they remember your name, nor bring you a beer without ordering it as they know what you want (and they were right !)

sauna was all nude :) But that's probably just my British prudishness !!

Price / quality ratio not correct

The location of the hotel is great, and the breakfast is decent. However, these are the only two positive aspects of this hotel.

The quality of the room and food is more like 1 star than 4 stars. The bed is hard, the interior is very old, there is no shampoo or working soap machine, and the toilet is old (the toilet seat had come off). Additionally, when you use the tap water or flush the toilet, you get scalding hot water in the shower. The sauna has been nicely upgraded, but the pool water is too cold, you have to pay for the infrared sauna, and the only Finnish sauna is fully open to the pool, which is not very discreet. The dinner was okay, but definitely not worth the money. For a simple dish without side dishes (vegetables, etc.), it costs 25-30 euros. Paying 370 euros for two nights (2-person bedroom and breakfast) is at least 100 euros too expensive. When we checked out and complained about the price-quality ratio, the guy at the desk didn't know how to react. We will not be staying here again.

The room was very clean, although the bathroom was quite small. The host was great in the evening that we arrived and offered us drinks and snacks.

The place is from a fairy tale...

We went their with our little furry friend and while we had all packed with us, the hotel had been so proactive to put a sleeping rug, food, a toy, bowls, ... for him! The room may have been a bit outdated but it is very legit since you are allowed to take dogs and of course pets can destroy rooms so we have full apreciation for that. Which was a great plus to the room for us was that the toilet and the bathroom were separated! So you didn't have to annoy each other or no one didn't need to wait! The room had everything we expected! Water pressure was a bit low on the shower but this is probably nothing the owners can help, because it will be the consequence of the very peculiar, amazing and breathtaking location. We went in the Christmas period and the decoration was just amazing. It was like being in a fairy tale. Esp for us since we don't have parents and families anymore - we could warm our hearts and feel the joy of the family happiness of this family running this hotel, which they do an outstanding job at! The food and breakfast there was amazing too... It just had everything. We had a great stay there and it felt peaceful we didn't need to leave the place to look for food somewhere: we just had anything we wanted and dined every night there, without getting there. We are thankful to the owners and staff for this great experience and will be back there soon for sure!

The wellness is renewed and we are very sensitive for air quality (the reason we picked this place), the smell and use of bleaching products to sterilise the welness was heavy, too much to handle and unfortunately you could already smell it from in the main floor (welness is in the basement). Since many guests will go there for the purity of the air, this may be a point of attention they need to keep in mind for the future as it may fear people who are sensitive by lungs or skin to these products.

the hotel is very clean, we enjoyed the swimmingpool and new sauna. everything is so romantic even quiet music playes in the toilets. breakfast was suberp, a litlle poblem and the staff is very happy to help you.

Mixed feelings, very nice but below our expectations

Great location, excellent food: breakfast buffet and a la carte lunch/dinner, beautiful restaurant and terrace, nice garden, very dog friendly, rooms very functional

2 older single rooms in the attic with small windows and 1 with the roof as a view - not like on the website. We wanted to sit in the brighter front area of the restaurant but « Guests cannot choose their table ». Pool and sauna area not well delimited and naked people are all around.

Great stay in a loverly location and hotel with friendly, accommodating staff.

The staff were excellent, especially in the restaurant.

The shower was not part of the renovation by the look of it, one without a bath and a fixed glass side and not a shower door that constantly moved letting water out across the bathroom room floor would have been much better.

Great weekend getaway.

Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, parking on site.

Guests in the room next to ours smoked on their balcony, so we had to keep our window and balcony door closed, and made we could not use our balcony while they were using theirs. The balconies are right next to one another.
