Excellent hotel to use in Pontorson for a visit to Mont Saint Michel.

Location is an easy walk from the train station. Heritage building. Breakfast is excellent with a very good variety of food. We were impressed with the tongs on each table, so everyone used their own to get the food. Also individual small pots of jams, fruit etc Lounges to relax in. Restaurants and small supermarkets in the street. Very helpful front desk staff. Bus leaves from the train station area to Mont Saint Michel, a few times a day.

I can confidently recommend this hotel.

A very beautiful and atmospheric hotel. The mansion with a rich history, in which the hotel is located, adds a special charm — it feels as if you are transported several centuries back. Despite its age, everything is very well maintained, and the historical character is preserved. The staff are very pleasant. We stayed as a family (2 adults, 2 children, and a dog). The room was small but comfortable, and a big advantage is that dogs are allowed. Breakfast was excellent — even our picky children, as well as we, were very satisfied, especially with the delicious fresh pastries.

The only inconvenience was that the town is small and restaurants do not stay open for long. We returned from a walk after 9:00 p.m. and could not find anywhere to eat, as the hotel bar was also closed. The only option nearby was a döner place. However, this cannot be considered a drawback of the hotel itself.

A very comfortable two days

Although we had rainy weather there was an awesome court yard available, and a breakfast room with great views and food. They handled gluten free well. We loved the old old building. The location is great within the town itself.

Not Your Average Best Western

We loved the building with its rich history and its location so close to Mont Saint Michel. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is probably the best Best Western I've ever been in! If you're a tourist looking to stay at fun unique places don't think this is just your average best western. It's a unique hotel with a brand name!

Well its an old building which i get. But things like: the pipe that fills the toilet flush tank was leaking so it has kept turned off after you flush else it leaks water on to the fool and in the shower the shower pipe was leaking. I mean these are easy fixes that should be checked and fixed.

Good stay if you are planning to visit Mont St Michel

we are a party of 4 and stayed in two rooms. Both rooms were spotlessly clean. centrally located to cafes and restaurants by foot . I like the strong and powerful shower. Close driving Proximity to Mont St Michel is a definite plus.

Perfect base to explore the Mont St Michel area

Excellent and very unique, historic hotel, with comfortable rooms that feel more than the 3* it has. Staff was exceptionally polite and helpful in everything. We asked to stay in a room with a tub, and we stayed with a dog, with no issues. I can only recommend.

Perfect.

Best hotel I stayed in all trip. The hotel is in an older building ( 1500 or so) but it is completely renovated to a high standard. We were using it as a home base to tour the area and had an excellent time. The owner is a true professional when it comes to service.

Disappointing and definitely not good value for money.

The location is very picturesque. We have stayed here before and that is one reason why we returned.

On arrival the receptionist was not very welcoming and began by pointing out that I had made a mistake about our arrival time. I admit I did not realise that it was a 24 hour clock time choice, but felt it a bit unjust as we arrived mid afternoon and not in the early hours of the morning. Our room was awful compared to previous stays. It was an attic room with one floor window, very hot lacking air and 2 electric fans were prvoided - which said a lot. In fact the lack of air was unbearable. My husband was looking forward to a cool beer, however we were told there was no beer that evening because the beer was too hot to serve! There was only one waitress at dinner, rushing to deliver meals to around 6 tables. Most went to the wrong order but she was doing her best in an understaffed situation. next morning we reported the beer problem to the new receptionist who simply said that there was nothing recorded in the staff book about no beer. We got the impression that she did not believe us. All in all a very disappointing experience.

A beautiful historic building, all facilities totaly new and - realy - extremely clean. Everything in the rooms is spotless and new. Very comfortable and very quiet surrounding. Staff friendly and helpful, all located in what seems to be a newly and fully refurbished village, with a free parking, lovely bakeries and shops, all just 10 minutes drive to mont saint michel. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel and preferred a near by coffee shop. Not sure we made the right choice.

Entry at night is by door code. Not a fault - just a thing to know. Elevator very small, realy just for 2 people, but the beautiful 500 year ols wooden staircase is bette anyhow.
