The Rock self-catering holiday cottage and garden lodges

Our stay at The Rock was absolutely fabulous! We stayed in Maple Lodge and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Sally, Anthony & Beth were the perfect hosts. Sally was VERY responsive to messages - I enquired about an iron & ironing board and it was delivered to the lodge almost immediately, thank you 😊 The lodge is well equipped with everything you'd need, the shower relaxing, the bath huge and the bathroom in general, is roomy with a fab skylight. The living area was a lovely space.....large bed which was VERY comfortable, lots of windows to look at the spectacular views and again, everything you'd need for your stay! We also had a lovely balcony with seating area, we ate breakfast out there every morning which was just perfect....watching and hearing the birds, sheep and cows! We were also made very welcome by the family dogs and cats.....daily visits from Ffion to ensure we were comfortable was purrrrrfect 🐈‍⬛ The location was 1st class.....surrounded by beautiful walks, close to town, a local pub in walking distance and of course Symonds Yat Rock. So much to do around there. The lodge had a folder full of local information about walks, things to do, taxis, takeaways, wildlife everything!!! There is even a pair of binoculars in the lodge to help you spot the wildlife! Eggs.....if you get the chance, try the eggs! They are wonderful, thank you Rock Chicks! 🐔 100% we will be returning!

Absolutely stunning location and our accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. Sally welcomed us and was on hand if we needed anything. Right on the forest edge so could just cross the road and follow all kinds of trails around the forest or take a short drive to many attractions. Would highly recommend staying at The Rock.
