Fleece Cottage

Really central location. Nicely decorated. Staff were extremely helpful. Bad points didn’t outweigh the good.

Cold tap didn’t work on bath, kitchen could do with an update, needed some tlc in some places eg paint cracking, smell of damp in bathroom but nothing major. Some comfier seating in the outdoor area would be great. Felt really uncomfortable on an evening with people sitting on the window sills of the living room and the fact there is no blind in the bathroom and the shower is directly in line with the window. Got lost trying to find how to access the place due to the postcode taking us to booths.

Location

1 way system makes access tricky

The location was great, it was right in the heart of Kendal and Ye Olde Fleece Inn next door was brilliant. The check-in and cleaning staff were friendly. The premises was large well appointed.

There was some kind of flooding in the main bedroom and en suite. This made the carpet saturated, which then started to smell like flood water during our stay. Unfortunately we could not use that end of the house. Fortunately there were other bedrooms and a bathroom in another wing of the house which we could use, but nevertheless it was disappointing as we wanted the used of the entire property and had paid for it accordingly.
