4 Bed in Windermere oc-lr026

This is a beautiful home and we (four middle-aged women hikers) had a lovely and comfortable stay there. It was clean, good-quality and well-equipped for cooking. The location is great - we were able to park almost outside (for up to an hour) for loading, and we always found spaces in the car park that is only five minutes walk away. Having two parking vouchers for use at various car parks was a massive perk as we used them all over the area, though having lovely hikes on the doorstep was great too. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants very close by and handy supermarkets minutes away too. I'd definitely recommend this flat, and come back myself. Having a washing machine was useful too.

The outside space isn't usable unless you like sitting by a bin store looking onto the fire escape of the takeaway opposite. A few other small niggles - it would have been useful to have some hooks in the downstairs bedroom (the only one that isn't en-suite) and door of that bed room doesn't stay closed unless you jam something behind it, but all in all, a really lovely home that felt very luxurious and comfortable.

Perfekte Lage des Hauses/der zweigeschossigen Wohnung für weitere Reiseziele. Nahegelegener Bahnhof ist max. 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Wir waren als 7-köpfige Familie vor Ort. Anreise ohne Auto zu empfehlen. Zwei Wochen Aufenthalt, viele Ausflüge, bis auf einen alle mit ÖPNV. Gekoppelt mit zwei Übernachtungen in Birmingham einen Tagesausflug über Salisbury zu Stonehenge. Tagesausflug mit Mietwagen nördlich um den Lake District ins sehr hübsche St. Bees an der Atlantikküste/der Irischen See. Schöner Sandstrand von welchem wir bei sehr sonnigem Wetter die Isle of Man sehen konnten. Gastronomie mit deftiger/vegatarischer Küche und Eisdiele vor Ort in St. Bees beim großen Parkplatz ist sehr zu empfehlen. Zurück südlich um den Lake District, zauberhaft. In der Wohnung/dem Haus sind zwei Parkberechtigungen vorhanden, sehr nützlich falls Anreise mit eigenem PKW, relativ kleiner Parkplatz ist ca. sechs Minuten zu Fuß entfernt, tagsüber sehr schnell voll, eher in den Abendstunden frei. Zweiter Parkplatz ca. 25-30 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Ort ist hochfrequentiert mit Tagesbesuchern. Bushaltestelle ist direkt am Haus gelegen und die Busfahrten durch angrenzende Ortschaften sind bereits ein Erlebnis, reguläre Linienbusse sind teilw. mit touristischen Ansagen. Outdoor-Sportangebot direkt in Windermere und dem dazugehörigen Bowness ist sehr gut, in Windermere ca. zehn Minuten zu Fuß vom Haus entfernt ein Skatepark mit einem Pumptrack, die Rampen im Skatepark sind erneuerungsbedürftig, aber Pumptrack ist top. In Bowness ist Wakesurfen (echtes Wellenreiten auf der Bugwelle eines Bootes) auf dem malerischen Lake District zu empfehlen. Wandern in der Gegend ist relativ anstrengend wenn es bergauf geht, dafür wird man auf dem Wansfell Pike mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht über den Lake District belohnt. Haus ist sauber, geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Kommunikation mit Gastgebern sehr gut.

Not easy to find

We attended Beech Tops as a young group of four couples and absolutely loved it! The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, with enough bathrooms for each couple to have their own space. The open plan kitchen/dining/living was very accommodating whilst being separate enough for couples to relax separately in bedrooms after a long day out hiking, whilst others enjoy a drink and a film in front of the TV. The location was perfect! A stones throw from local bars, restaurants and shops and only a short drive to some of the lake’s greatest hiking locations. We loved the permits that came with the stay, having being able to use them in so many locations across the Lake District - very helpful!! 10/10 property. We would definitely come back!

We would only make very minor adjustments. For instance, labelling the keys to the property would be helpful as we found ourselves struggling to enter at times. Coat hooks on the bedroom doors would also be quite handy. The TV in the master bedroom may also need setting up properly as we found ourselves struggling to use it.
