Wonderful B&B

What an excellent stay at B&B Maaltebrug. The room was big, clean and comfortable, as well as the bathroom (with what seems to be new appliances - lovely shower and bathtub). Petra was very accommodating and welcoming, as well as making a wonderful breakfast. The location is not central but still very well located (the tram stop is only 100m away).

It was perfect, there was nothing we didn’t like.

Pleasant stay for my visit in Ghent

Convenient location (right next to tram T1, which takes you to the center of the town), surprisingly quiet even though it’s next to a busy road. I had my best sleeps there among my 10-day trips in NL & BE. The room is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast comes with a lovely bowel of fresh fruits. Everything is thoughtfully put together, including the well stocked beers & wines. Petra is lovely to chat with and she gives very insightful recommendations on activities and places to go. Only one thing to keep in mind is that restaurants are mostly outside of walking distance, so plan accordingly. Overall, this will be my choice of stay for future visits to Ghent!

We stayed at B&B Maaltebrug in Ghent this summer for a couple of nights, and our experience was absolutely wonderful. The owner was extremely kind and helpful, giving us loads of useful information on how to reach the city center, what to visit, restaurant recommendations based on our tastes and budget, public transport, and even how to get to Bruges and other destinations. The breakfast was delicious and high-quality, with many homemade items, and she always prepared exactly what we enjoyed. The B&B itself is spotlessly clean and very well maintained, and the atmosphere is so welcoming—you feel right at home, but wonderfully pampered at the same time. There is on-site parking, which is very convenient. The location is also convenient, not far from the main train station and just a short ride to the city center by public transport, in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We also had the chance to chat with the owner, who is very pleasant, and it was a lovely exchange that made our stay even more memorable. In short: highly recommended for anyone visiting Ghent who wants a warm, welcoming stay with attention to every detail.

A wonderful place to stay!

It was the best choice we could have made for our stay! TOP !!!!!!! Close to the train station and if at first it seems that you are far from the center, however in front of the house there is frequent and regular tram and bus transport. From the train station in about 30 minutes you are either in Brussels or Bruges, so you don't need to change accommodation. A sunny, modern house, wonderful decoration, comfortable and very good mattresses. Spotlessly clean!!! As for the breakfast ....I have no words! Rich with fresh products, hot rolls, freshly squeezed juices, handmade jams, coffee. Petra is a wonderful person, kind, helpful, smiling and willing to answer any question you may have! Really, this place was the best way to start our days !!

Perfect B&B close to Flanders Expo

The breakfast alone merits a 10/10 and was superb with a wide choice of sweet and savoury options. The room and the breakfast room are beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. The location was ideal for us who were working at the Flanders Expo. We really had a wonderful stay. It allowed us to rest peacefully after long days of work. Our host Petra was perfect.

Petra was an extremely lovely and kind host, and everything about the bed & breakfast was perfect - the rooms and bathrooms were clean, spacious, and light; breakfast was excellent every day and the B&B is right next to a tram station, from where you can easily get to the center or the St. Pieters station. B+B Maaltebrug.

We arrived 2 hours early and I asked Petra if it would be ok to park the car and go for a walk. She told us our room was ready and we could check in early which was very welcome after a long journey. Petra was very welcoming and attentive. She showed us to our room and gave us information on Ghent and how to travel on the tram. The tram stop into the city is literally across the road, takes about 17 minutes and you just swipe your debit/credit card on the machine inside the tram. The standard of the b+b accommodation is exceptional. The cleanliness and quality of the fittings are of a very high standard. Breakfast was laid out ready for us in the morning with a good choice. If I return to Ghent I will only stay here. Perfect.

Feels like being at home

Just incredible, it really feels like you are at home and it was the best part of our trip to Ghent. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the breakfast is delicious and homemade (even the yoghurt! that was fantastic) and the host is the loveliest person, she really cares about her guests. There is also a large supermarket nearby for anything you might need and the train station is very close (can even be walking distance).

If you don’t have a car remember to plan out when you need to go to the city center, the service is good but takes on average 20-25 minutes.

A wonderful, quiet stay close to the center of Ghent

My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at the B&B! The recently renovated room was spacious and luxurious and had everything we could hope for. The breakfast was amazing as well, with local/fresh products and a very friendly and welcome host that tailored to our every need. Definitely recommend!

Aanrader!

Zeer vriendelijke en warme ontvangst door Petra. De kamer (Maria) en de badkamer met grote inloopdouche waren ruim en kraaknet. Alles is voorzien op de kamer, koffie, thee, water, ... tot zelfs een lader om je gsm op te laden. Bij het ontbijt werden we verwend met home-made producten. De ontbijtruimte is ook huiselijk ingericht. De tram is heel dichtbij waardoor je op 15 minuten zonder problemen in het centrum bent.

Tolle Unterkunft sehr zu empfehlen. Wir könnten uns auch einen längeren Aufenthalt als ein Wochenende vorstellen.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin, sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Ruhige Lage trotz Hauptstraße mit Anbindung an die Straßenbahn in der Nähe. Gute und Gepflegte Ausstattung, alles super sauber gehalten, in geräumigen Zimmern. Frühstücksraum sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, und abwechslungsreichen Frühstück.

L’endroit idéal pour visiter la Belgique

Cette magnifique maison est située près du centre-ville de Gand, et très facilement desservie par le tram est le bus. Les hôtes sont aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux (pain, oeuf, fromage et charcuterie, toutes sortes de confitures, yaourt,…). Les chambres sont neuves et spacieuses et le lit est très confortable. Ce B&B est également proche de Bruges, de Bruxelles et d’Anvers (40 minutes en voiture)

Geweldig vertoeven om te fietsen in de mooie natuur of gezelligheid in de stad !

Gastvrouw was zeer vriendelijk en zorgzaam! Locatie was perfect en de kamer was voorzien van alle comfort! We hadden direct een thuisgevoel en komen zeker nog eens terug !

Absolute Empfehlung für einen romantischen Urlaub

Straßenbahnhaltestelle direkt vor der Tür, bequem und einfach ins Stadtzentrum, liebevolles Frühstück, sehr !!! bequeme Betten, Probleme wurden schnell und professionell gelöst. Ein kleiner Kühkschrank auf dem Zimmer. Alles in allem wirklich ein schönes, familiär geführtes, gemütliches B&B mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Die Eigentümerin ist sehr herzlich und hilft mit Tips zum Besuch von Gent. Idealer Startpunkt um weitere Dinge zu besuchen (Brügge, Antwerpen, Europas schönster Zoo, WW 1 Museen, etc).. Vielen Dank für den schönen Urlaub!

De eigenaresse was super vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Alles was schoon. We hadden een prachtige ruime kamer en de locatie was prima. Buiten het centrum, maar aan de overkant van de straat stap je op de tram die je rechtstreeks naar het centrum brengt. Tip. Koop een citycard en je kunt in bijna alle bezienswaardigheden gratis binnen en gratis met het openbaarvervoer.

Het weer, maar daar kan niemand iets aan doen.

Mooie rustige locatie, mooie grote kamer en badkamer en heel schoon. Aardige attente gastvrouw, goed verzorgd en uitgebreid ontbijt. Tram aan de overkant van de straat vertrekt om de 7 minuten. Perfect!!
