Good value nice place could do with a few tweaks .

Lovely Victorian property located in the centre of Matlock bath . Nice features and large room . Breakfast was very good . Hosts were friendly and accommodating. Bedroom was roomy and traditionally Victorian . November so a bit cold in room .

En-suite bit small not great with sink outside of bathroom in room . So a bit impersonal and inconvenient . Parking could be a bit of an issue for some .

Lovely experience thank you for the exceptional service.

Room and breakfast was excellent. The owners were excellent and really attaintive, even supported my Wife to move the car from the drive. They were excellent with local knowledge too. My Wife travelled with her Mum and stayed in a downstairs room as she is disabled. Her Mum is still talking about her stay weeks after staying as she really enjoyed her experience. My Wifes Mum hasn't stayed away for a while as she lacks confidence after a long term condition so thank you so much.

Loved our stay

We like how the property had character for the building and we liked that it had a private door leading on to the courtyard. The breakfast was sensational and the owners couldn’t do enough for you. Literally a 10 second walk to anywhere , brilliant location.

The only thing which could make my score been top was that we were rather cold during the night and at lunchtime , I know it’s an old building but the heating wasn’t on long enough.

Fabulous stay!

Excellent stay! We had a warm welcome which was lovely! The guest house has a warm feel, very clean and everything you need! Its right in the heart of the town so everything is on your doorstep! Highly recommend! We will definitly go back!

Abraham heights/matlock illuminations

The owners were so lovely. The room was great big . The bed was comfy. Great view . We thought we were in a chateau. Breakfast was excellent. I would come again value for money. A lovely home with lovely hosts. Fabulous cooked breakfast and a great location.

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful with useful information about the surrounding area. The breakfasts were delicious and the location was excellent. The bed was comfortable and being at the back of the house we weren't disturbed by the busy road. Everything was very clean and well kept.

Our room was rather bijou, particularly the bathroom. The shower cubicle was rather tight and the sink was in the bedroom rather than the bathroom. The outlook was onto a back yard which wasn't particularly pretty.

Amazing stay

The property is right in the heart of Matlock bath and makes it easily accessible. The couple that run the b&b are amazing and friendly they really make you feel at home. The breakfast is by far one of the best I have ever had and the property is stunning.

The room was great and the little outside patio was very nice as well. The breakfast was lovely and the host were very welcoming and helpful. The location is great. It's right by the trainstayion and in the middle of everything in matlock bath. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. Very clean and character property. Good location and can walk to points of interest. Great breakfast.

Great location and breakfast. The room was less than hoped...

The location was brilliant. Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. Beautiful building, courtyard and breakfast room.

The room was smaller than hoped and was in need of a bit of a clean to get rid of the cobwebs in the corners. Not really enough space to put belongings and get ready comfortably for a couple. A sink in the bedroom is never ideal. Water pipes and the sound of other guests was noisy and kept us awake on both nights of our stay. Also the sash window rattled whenever there was movement upstairs. We did enjoy our stay in Matlock Bath for our wedding anniversary on the whole, but definitely hoped for more from the room.

This is as good a Guest House / traditional B&B as you will find!

Very nice ground floor room with excellent bed, two comfy armchairs, good TV, large shower room, direct access to small courtyard. Breakfast was served in the front parlour with view out, nice furniture and exceptionally good full English breakfast.

Relaxing retreat and incredibly welcome.

Myself and my partner were visiting Matlock and the Matlock area as a relaxing getaway before becoming parents. The location of Ashdale house was perfect, the owners were extremely welcoming and breakfast was delicious.

The property was perfectly located for restaurants/bars/shops, train station and cable car to Heights of Abraham. All within a few minutes walk! Our room and ensuite were clean and comfortable with coffee/tea making facilities (and biscuits!). Breakfast was delicious! and we could choose exactly what we wanted from the list of food items on offer. Paula and Sean made us very welcome and were very helpful regarding booking the cable car. Thank you for a lovely stay, we’ll be back!

Wonderful guest house with welcoming owners & comfortable accommodation

Very welcoming, gorgeous view, comfortable beds and very clean. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable owners. Room was stunning and spacious. Breakfast was superb, well organised and delicious food especially the croissants. Would 100% stay here again when back in the area!

Shower water pressure not the best but did its job.
