The location, the surroundings it was beautiful

Gym facilities were a bit dated. One restaurant closed at half 5 and the other didn’t open till 6 so you had a bit of time that you couldn’t get any food or drink.

A beautiful Christmas get away.

Christmas Dinner was amazing don't change your head chef.

Payment system say i paid and then chased for double the money after i settled the bill , so confusing caused anxiety.

All good overall, we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was good. Breakfast - greek yoghurt and granola was good too. Cofee not great, I thought it was a bit tasteless. Staff; good on the whole but a ‘good morning’ and ‘please’ would have been nice at breakfast. I used the pool, steam room and sauna, all of which were welcome to have on a quick overnight stay.

Shower over the bath; much prefer a walk in shower. A really small thing; wooden stirrers in the room for tea & coffee; what’s wrong with a spoon? Our duvet was a little thin and couldn’t find an extra blanket to use in the room. Bedroom slippers please too!

Hotel and facilities are great 👍, but unfortunately the food and Disturbed sleep wasn't nice 👎

The hotel itself looks fabulous, parking and it's facilities were great, we make good use of the pool, the steam room and the jacuzzi. There is a sauna there but we didn't use that one . We very much enjoyed spending some time at the side of the pool on the beds relaxing towels were supplied by the hotel and the leisure staff were very pleasant and helpful

The food wasn't in keeping with the hotel. Fried Food let this down for us £95 for two no desserts and one drink each . Also having long life milk instead of normal milk in the main coffee machines at the morning breakfast made this unpleasant to drink. We stayed in a very nice room though 126. However, unfortunately at 12:30 at night we found out there was a room upstairs and we could hear Every sound coming from above , every footstep even snoring Which spoilt our stay? . Also would have to mention the 6:30 am fire alarm going off a very very loud bell in the room ... Which I'm assuming was a false alarm as it stopped within 5 mins nobody mentioned anything about it while we were there ?

Great service, went above and beyond thank you

Absolutely fantastic service. We had booked for his birthday, but unfortunately I had to go into hospital and wasn’t allowed the night or even a few hours out. As debated as we were the staff went the extra mile for. I wanted to surprise him with some extras in the room, ice bucket with various drinks, a pre booked tab to use in the restaurant and bar unfortunately due to health and safety I wasn’t able to book a special plate of desert with happy birthday written on. But the front of house staff wrote a card for me with my words to go in the room. They also wrote a birthday card and provided a small complimentary bottle of prosecco. This was a wonderful experience for my love on what could have been a very sad day. Thank you so much and as soon as I am better we will return together.. hoping for the same exact room. Nikki x

Absolutely fantastic experience - Highly recommend.

We liked everything, the hotel is beautiful, we didn't stay in the historical side of the hotel, instead we stayed in the Country Club as there wasn't a family room available in the main house, but we experienced the house when we dined at Cast Iron Grill and Bar. The country club is attached to the main house through adjoining corridors. The room was beautiful, fully equipped, with great views of the house. The grounds are stunning, the spa, including sauna, steam room, pool and gym are fantastic and we also ate at Tempo Bar which was lovely. The staff were very helpful, they were friendly and very attentive to our needs. The breakfast was beautiful, full English as well as continental, fruit, cereals and all the trimmings. We had full use of all facilities from the day of arrival 6am onwards, despite check in at 3pm. We also had use of the facilities until 8:30pm despite check out at 12 midday. I would highly recommend and will definitely return. The stay was simply beautiful.

Too much to mention here. ...Christmas day (carvery) meal at booked 2.30 pm at £125 each for a messy / child noisy carvery with turkey/salmon gone, not great value. No lifts and on 3rd floor, gulp

Pleasant and a lovely opportunity to invite our family for breakfast on Boxing Day.

The double aspect room (superior) was lovely. We were grateful for the clear instructions in the corridors to the Reception and back to our room - what a trek! The breakfast was excellent!

The bins in our room hadn't been emptied and there was a hole in the sheet on the bed!

A Nice Spa, Not The Best Hotel

Great Location, Great History, Great View, Nice Spa & Pool, Clean.

No Bathrobes (people wandering out of the spa area wrapped in towels). Terrible Evening Meal (a chain pub delivers better food), Poor Table Service. Old Faulty TV, Rooms Dated.

It’s a great place to getaway and destress, exactly what we wanted.

The place is in a beautiful setting. The staff were lovely and got us booked in before the check in time when we arrived early. We had a lovely massage at the spa, enjoyed a couple of swims and had some decent food.

Stunning

Stunning grounds and brilliant facilities, we had a room in the oldest part of the building and it was gorgeous.

We paid for the breakfast. There was an extensive choice. Really liked the later check out time and use of the leisure facilities after check out. Staff all smiling, greeting us, polite and helpful. My request of a nice view was acknowledged. Overall a very pleasant welcome. Free parking.

The shower screen did have a seal, but the water leaked unto the floor. We ended up with a big pool of water after every shower.

Very nice, the restaurant needs to improve.

The room was lovely, big bed, tea and coffee in the room, staff were very nice, the breakfast was very good.

The room although quite far from reception was lovely, a very strange amount of stairs, which was quite confusing, the dinner was not great, steak and chips small lettuce salad and two tomatoes, restaurant was very busy Saturday night, the Bar had run out of beer, which seemed a bit odd.

Really nice, much needed but that breakfast situation needs to change

Breakfast was ok, sadly for me the continental selection was warm, fresh fruit was dry, the hummus had a hard skin on it and clearly hadn't been covered, the celery was the same and the salmon looked inedible. The yogurts were not chilled. As a chef I pick up on these things so for me it was a concern. The staff were outstanding on every level and our room cosy and warm Thank you

The breakfast as stated, continental was awful. Cheeses dry I don't believe anything was covered or chilled correctly and looked very much to me over 2 services old. Really disappointed
