An absolute waste of money and I wished I’d booked somewhere else.

Room was damp, also had that damp smell. . Needed a urgent paint job. Heating only worked for a short spell. Couldn't adjust, I did try . There was 2 heaters only one worked. So had to use the small electric heater that was supplied. Room was opposite a pub which had a few visitors during the evening and parked there cars right outside the window of my room.. People opposite must have exited their room and returned a dozen times in 1 evening, which made a loud noise every time they opened and closed the doors..

1 nights stay

The hotel was conveniently located not far from the centre of derby. There was a large car park and access was easy. The beds were super comfy which is really all you need at the end of a long day.

The heating in our room didnt work, the electronic key code box on our adjoining room ran out of battery locking my daughters boyfriend inside (thankfully she was in our room at the time so could let him out!) The bathrooms weren't very nice and the fan (which automatically came on when turning on the light) was really noisy. I could hear every time my daughter or her boyfriend (in the adjoining room) went to the bathroom!

Nice and quiet. The check out was contactless and staff was very friendly. However heating was not great and there seemed to be a sex toy sitting at reception when we checked in which was very degrading. Overall it was adequate and would stay again

It was average at best. Like soil sprinkled with glitter.

On arrival I waited over 5 minutes to check in whilst an elderly gentleman ate his food looking at me through the glass office door. He didn’t attempt to appease me or advise a staff member would attend to me asap. Once I was checked in, I felt the clerk was inconvenienced by my arrival. Unwelcoming yet assertive in explaining the do’s and don’ts. The modern decor merely masked the tired old building and the free WiFi was non existent. Thus, causing endless issues with TV connection. Unable to watch TV at all during my 2 day stop over. Beds or room where not freshened or touched. Although site facilities stipulates “daily maid service” . A musty smell was present on arrival. Although by opening the windows did seem to expel any odour quickly. No plug for the bath, drafty windows, no sound proofing to floors or walls. Staff unavailable when needed and had to call the number provided and wait an eternity to be attended to. Overall, overpriced, un accommodating and poor customer care. I rated 5/10 due to the fact. After Premier Inn sold the property in the last few years. I believe it now to be a family run business and I imagine the new owners are doing the best they can to make the dilapidated old building as comfortable as possible. Potentially on a budget which will take time and commitment. If you require a pit stop in a comfy bed without the luxuries. Then this is the place. However, I feel the price was on the high end of the bar. Considering the service. I only booked as a last minute weekend away and due to its location and local attractions. I struggled to find anywhere else at short notice.

Everything. It was absolutely filthy, absolutely stunk of cigarettes, the rook was absolutely filthy and the door didn’t lock. So loud with people shouting all night.

We didn't like much at all.

The room was dirty, white paste in one of the shelves staining my partners leather jacket, which will have to be dry cleaned. We moved the chair and there was mould behind it. Stains on the wall and cracks. Obviously an old Premier Inn but a very poor standard. Very over priced and very unimpressed.

Poor reply quality on bookings.com. I advised that I will still attend and asked if a room with a fridge can be allocated. Was fully ignored and told I can cancel if I want. I labelled that I travel for work. I work 12hr shift. Finished work at 6pm. Arrived at 18:20. Was told I was lucky that they still have rooms available. They were just about to cancel my booking…. Eventually, I was finally allocated a room at the other side of the property. That is renovated pub. My room was in the attic. After passing several maze like corridors. My room was essentially the attic of the property. Low door frame. Also room was on the side of a very busy road side. I could not close the window as the room being in the attic there was poor air ventilation. So I was stuck with keeping the window open and having very poor sleep. To add to this. For the 1st two night stays out of tree. Someone tried to open my rooms for around the same time. 8pm. Which as a solo female traveler for work felt very unsafe. Especially as there were no cameras in the maze of tiny hallways. Yes, room was clean but overall it was not a pleasant experience.

The rooms were very neat amd comfortable, very helpful staff, we arrived almost at 1 am, but the staff was very helpful.

Bedding had hair on it. Because it was too late, I didn't want to get the staff out again. We didn't have much luggage, so it was easy for us to get to the room. There was quite a lot of zig zag walking, so with luggage it would have been tough.

No hot water, do not stay as staff will ignore you if you have any problems.

Free and plenty of parking. The reason for this is that there were no basic facilities in the room so no one would want to take the risk and stay.

I needed hot water to use the basin and shower and they were not working. I contacted reception over 5 times about this and then emailed, there was no response.

Not secure. Single female traveller.

I was a solo female traveller, visiting my sister. The bed was comfortable and the location was convenient.

I was in room 22, it was behind the linen bins off the car park. This is a motel style hotel with all of the rooms directly off the carpark. The door leading straight off the car park to my room and one other room had no form of security, so anybody could walk in off the street. My bedroom door had part of a security chain but the other half of it was missing, so it could not be used, the window was faulty and would not close, leaving enough room for me to put my fingers between it and the window frame, also where the window is permanently open, the room was a little chilly. There were 2 thermostats on the wall, one was completely dead and the other showed a digital display but did not work, so no heating was available. As a single woman, I felt un-nerved every time I heard a noise, especially being on the ground floor. The reception desk is unmanned in the evening. When I arrived, after a long drive, I just checked in and went straight to my sister's, upon returning to the hotel in the evening, I admit I did not want to phone around emergency numbers etc, so I just put up with it and left early the next morning, It was a very long night. I emailed the Tyger Inn the next day and sent them photos of the broken security chain, broken window and broken heating and just had a reply that security is their main concern and they'd pass the message on. I felt that they didn't really care that I'd had such a bad experience. I would never go there again.

Quiet location in the middle of nowhere made for a good nights sleep

Extremely tired & dated building. Should be condemned & bulldozed really. On same site as an abandoned pub. Our room absolutely stank of cannabis. The shower over bath looked awful - we opted not to shower the next morning! Windows look like they’ve not been cleaned for years. Only stayed here for an event at Markeaton Park, then the venue was changed to city centre. Was difficult getting a taxi back here as taxis can’t be bothered to drive beyond the city centre. Our uber never turned up then a taxi driver said he didn’t know where the hotel was.

The size of the rooms was awesome and the facilities that were available (fridge, bath and shower, great tv with all channels)

The bathroom needed some updating. Couldn’t get the bath to work as the top was broken off and the shower head needed mending as it was constantly dripping. Plus all the boards on the walls were all water damaged and warped.
