A wonderful stay and we plan to go back. Wonder how we missed this place before now.

Location, adjacent to the vineyards was like being in France but without the airfare! Did not know what to expect for breakfast menu/service but our chef out did himself, especially with the huevos rancheros. Staff made us feel so welcome and showed us the fridge stocked with cold beverages by the pool, the coffeemaker in the kitchen which we were welcome to.

Charming Chateau

The breakfast was delicious, Carlos was very kind and accommodating. The views of the vineyard during breakfast were very relaxing. The pool is a perfect place for a nap after wine tasting ;)

The building is obviously older so the walls are very thin. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable.

Avoid. NOT value for money.

I’ll start by saying that, just as I did, you’ll probably be able to get a much better stay in Calistoga in another property for a fraction of the price. Despite property descriptions and their website, I did not witness anything luxury about this place, apart from the diner. I was at the property for only a couple of hours but that was more than enough. -Photos are a bit deceiving - everything in real life is a lot smaller, especially the pool and bathrooms. I sat down on the toilet and my knees were bumping against the bathroom door. Pool size was not fit for the amount of guests the property can accommodate and looks twice as big in the photos. -No sound isolation whatsoever. You can hear people sneeze/talk/get changed in the rooms next to yours, no sense of privacy whatsoever. To add to this disaster, each room is operated by a PIN code rather than a key. In our case, rather than showing or handing us the PIN, the host just said the PIN out loud for us to try out from the hallway - the implication being that other people probably heard it and our room was essentially unlocked for everybody. I had more privacy when I lived in student halls at uni than at this ‘’luxury’’ chateau. -I had a query about our reservation where we initially wanted to stay an extra night at the property, however, it was near impossible to get hold of the property - 3 contact numbers, 2 email addresses and Booking messaging system later, we finally received a 1-sentence response via Booking messenger with the property completely misunderstanding our request and providing the wrong advice which completely paralysed our options when it came to our time in Napa valley. Their attempt to remedy the situation was a bottle of wine - which we explained we’re unlikely to be able to accept as we’re due to catch a flight back and our luggage was already full. No other offers or solutions to rectify the poor customer experience.

Lost in Calistoga

Peaceful. The view from the private cottage french doors in the morning gave you a feeling that you were not in the states. Chef Carlos was amazing with made to order breakfast outside. .

Would definitely stay at Chateau de Vie on our next stay in Calistoga

The chef-prepared breakfast at Chateau de Vie was awesome. Each day we started with coffee/tea, then a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, and finally eggs, bacon and greens. Each day was a different parfait and a different egg preparation (omelette, poached). We were fortunate in that we were the only guests staying at the Chateau during our stay, so we had the whole place to ourselves. We really enjoyed the hot tub as well as the fireplace room, and of course the serene views of the valley and mountains.

Zero complaints, we had a wonderful stay.

Navel was a terrific host and made the stay highly enjoyable!

It’s a beautiful B&B and the host Navel was absolutely wonderful and took great care of us during our stay. She was super responsive throughout the day and cooked us breakfast both morning including quite early the second day as we were leaving.

The place is just amazing. The rooms are very nice and confortable. Nelva, the hose manager was highly responsive and cocked excellent Breakfast. Location is also great. Few minutes drive from the old faithful geyser and Petrified forest
