Excellent location, excellent hosts, excellent breakfasts - a little hidden jewel of a place!

Longmead House was an excellent location for us. The guest house is well run and makes an extra special effort to meet guests needs which was most appreciated. Excellent breakfasts and small, thoughtful, individual touches were employed, for example Mel's special ginger cake on arrival and little packet of tissues beside each side of the bed. Our hosts were friendly, and were able to advise us on walking opportunities locally.

We were late in booking and probably didnt have their best room so, the only small issue we had was the fact that our wash sink was not in the shower room - we would both have preferred it not to be in the bedroom area.

It was a good stay and a lovely weekend overall

We stayed here in mid June and although it rained for a whole afternoon on the day we arrived, the next 2 days were proper walking days and quite lovely. Lynton is a pretty little place with great eateries and easy access to Lynmouth. Walk down to the sea and take venicular back up, good fun. Longmead House is a superb B&B, Nick & Melanie are unobstrusive but are on hand should you need anything. You can come and go freely with a front door key and the car park is a bonus. The surrounding countryside is truly beautiful but if you want to drive, everywhere is accessible and the other coastal towns are lovely. Valley of the Rocks is a must see. Melanie's home made bread and preserves are fab and breakfast was a feast. Longmead House will be a definite re-stay on our return to North Devon which is rugged and stunning. We are back home in South Devon now and already miss the place. Book and enjoy.

Nick and Mel were fabulous hosts. The food was great, especially the eggs benedict....I couldn't get enough of them 😋. The room was clean and comfy. The surroundings are spectacular.

A very quiet location, Lynton Village is only a short walk away. Lynmouth can be reached via the cliff railway. We knew our room was going to be small but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw it. We had enough room for our 4 day stay.

We couldn’t open the windows in our room.

a bit disappointing

good location

room was small, bathroom tight, brown toilet paper. it was stated on booking.com double but when we got confirmation it was classed as small compact double. I emailed to query and we were told we could be moved - but still put in same room. it was nice enough but not what we were expecting.

Would definitely return, the room is worth it and there is enough of breakfast options.

It is on the 'outskirts' of Lynton and very easy to get to. The size of the room was a massive bonus as we stayed 4 nights. We could air the room and keep the windows open overnight for a gentle airflow. I enjoyed the homemade granola and fruit salad. After trying various hot breakfast options, I have found that the nicely done gluten-free sausages with thin skin and fried eggs worked best for me.

Hot breakfast was so, so. Some people may like thick, dry bacon and sausages that are over-done and wrinkly with poached eggs that were like boiled eggs but I didn't like that. Although we did hear other guests' feedback who were happy with the breakfast.

Fabulous B&B. Perfect location to get up onto the Moors, or down into the Lorna Doone Valley.

So secluded and peaceful, and yet a stones throw from Lynton village. Secure parking. Breakfast was fabulous with many options and courses. Nick and Melanie, our hosts, were very charming. Great little personal touches in the room, and super comfy (firm) bed.

Thank you very much, all in all I enjoyed an excellent couple of nights at Longmead House. Nick and Mel were wonderful hosts, friendly, supportive and super accommodating in terms of my late arrival and need for slightly earlier breakfasts. The food was absolutely excellent, there was plenty of parking and I received an upgraded room (at no extra cost to me) owing to the storm damage, which was well appointed and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you are travelling in the area.
