Lovely, friendly staff throughout our stay. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Paintwork on ceiling in bathroom not in great condition and grout around shower needs replaced. Breakfast ok, poached eggs were hard sadly but selection otherwise ok.

Fantastic hotel. The rooms are spacious, stylish and well designed. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. We loved the local touches like great local cheese with breakfast and copy of the Beano (written in Dundee).

Check in was ok until they wanted to charge £50 to my credit card incase of any damages. Usually they take a copy of your card, not charge it. Breakfast was mediocre as the hot buffett food was either under or overcooked. Room was nice and spacious however they may want to turn the vacuum cleaner on before pushing it around, also the bedding was stained.

We had a warm welcome at reception and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of our room. It was on the top floor, at our request, so ceilings were sloped. The only thing that concerned me was the lack of ability to get out in an emergency. Location is a bit out of the way, but worth it for the high quality of the hotel and not really a problem, even when walking.

Can't recommend the hotel highly enough. The room was wonderful with some lovely imaginative decorative touches - particularly the Dundee Cake recipe! Staff were all really friendly, and when they found that we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary we received a couple of complimentary drinks too. It's those little touches that really make the difference. We will without doubt be back next time we visit Dundee.

Nice hotel, bed was comfy but even with the air conditioning on the room was still a bit to warm for my liking. Breakfast, after being seated we had to go and ask for cutlery as there was none on the table, no plates when going up for hot breakfast, we had breakfast at 9 but their wasn’t much left from the hot or cold buffet but what we got was nice enough.

The Welcome Letter stated that breakfast was till 10.30, seven days a week. Came down at 9.30 to be told breakfast was finished. Apparently the 10.30 finish was only at weekends. Otherwise the hotel was very good.

We stayed here last year and had an excellent stay and were excited to return. Sadly this year was not as good as last year. We received early check in last year which was great but unavailable this year but that couldn’t be helped. No welcome cookie this year either. Very slow at check in, only one lady at the desk to begin with. Room nice and clean, hotel very hot and calmly this year. Cooler outside than in. Breakfast was the main let down. Restaurant looked dirty and untidy with half empty serving area, lots of dirty dishes on tables from previous guest not removed. The tea was disgusting as hot water from same machine as coffee and tainting hot water. All bakery baskets half empty and poor selection of cereal, pain rice Krispies would have been fine for children. Unfortunately just a disappointing stay and not same friendly vibe as last year.

In general it is a very nice hotel. We found the beds to be a bit firmer than we might have liked and the charges for parking( if you can find a spot) are ridiculous at £14 a day. However all in all a nice hotel.

Excellent hotel in a great location. Reception staff were very welcoming on arrival. Hotel room was very spacious and comfortable for family of two adults plus two teenagers. Breakfast was very good. Bar, restaurant and public areas all very nice and compliment the old building.Will definitely stay again.

Rooms were brilliant. This hotel was an old Jute mill and the room reflected that with some original features mixed with modern facilities. Rooms were spacious and had everything you need. Coffe machine and pods .. fridge with complimentary water was a nice touch. Breakfast was good .. buffet style and had decent selection. Only negatve with breakfast was that there was no haggis. Rest of hotel was reslly well pesented although had to queue for 20 mins at reception to check in but that more because there was a festival on and place was busy. Car parking was there but small and all spaces filled .. had to park in close by council car park so not a major issue.

Room was clean and comfortable. Kettle for hot tea and a coffee pouch machine. Breakfast yummy. Chef was available to make omelette or other options. Also ate in the restaurant a few times. Good menu. The quietest air condition I have ever known in the bedroom - and it was needed in this heatwave. Bar was great along with huge comfy sofas.

The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The location was 10 mins or so to the city centre by foot. Since there didn’t seem to be many places to eat nearby, I had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. On one of the days, at about 7 am, the breakfast was very crowded and the food kept running out. This was very frustrating. The following day was less crowded and I was offered a menu where I could also choose an ala carte dish. I did though they brought a wrong dish. So the service at the restaurant was not great as they could be more attentive. Nevertheless a pleasant stay in Dundee.
