The hotel was fine and very modern . There was no one at the front desk to answer questions I have a major complaint. During our stay, there was a breakfast buffet arranged in the lobby. There was no price on it. And there was no one at the desk for us to confirm whether breakfast was included or not. I assumed that this was for the guest and and I took the breakfast. My husband who was staying with me also got coffee for one or two days. Again, no one told us that breakfast was not included in our service and they did not tell us the actual price of the breakfast. Afterwards, I have been charged $199 for taking breakfast at the hotel for four days. This is unacceptable if I had known that the breakfast was expensive I would not have had anything. They were cheaper pay places to get coffee and a croissant outside the hotel.

The place is conveniently located near the train station as well as the funicular to go to the lake promenade. They are between 5 to 10 minutes walk from the hotel respectively. Daniel was very prompt in responding with whatever we need figured out in the room besides being nice and helpful. Thank you, Daniel; you made our stay wonderful!

The hotel is conpletely renovated, very modern interieur. The short walk from the trainstation (5 min) was very conveniant for us arriving with the train with lugguage. The city centre was easy to reach taking the funicular from the train station. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. The free water (also sparling) was absolutely great. Great customer service, we would always go there again when going to Lugano!

The hotel is lovely. We had 2 rooms booked and paid the same for both. 1 had a deck, a safe, a fridge and a closet. The other had none of those things. We felt a little overcharged for one room. Daniel at the front desk was very helpful with maps and gave is a discount card for some train and bus rides. All very enjoyable.

The owner and staff were gracious and capable. We arrived under stressful circumstances, having to find a different place late in the day. Daniel, at the front desk, waited after his shift to check us in. The room was spotless and comfortable. Hermelina makes a wonderful cafe latte. The only negative is that the breakfast is sparse—cereal, bread, croissants, yogurt, but no eggs.

Loved the location of this hotel! So easy to jump off the train and make a short walk there, with very clear signs guiding the way. (If you cannot carry your luggage up stairs, don’t use it as there are a lot and no elevator.) Other than that, the manager was wonderful, the room great, And the convenience of getting to the train and the Funicular to the lovely downtown makes it a great stay!

Initially I was not too excited about the location. After staying I have changed my view. There is the public transit pass the hotel provides. It is very short distance and easy to walk to the train station. The old town is very walkable and interesting. The lake front is a nice walk. The breakfast was fine and the outside area very nice.

Location is good but hotel is not for the elderly who can’t climb stairs. Reception is 1.5 flight of stairs up an already inclined road. Friendly owner manning the reception is helpful in going about to sight see Lugano

We had a very pleasant stay here while en route from France to Italy. The hotel was extremely convenient to the train station, and, even though we arrived after the front desk had closed, we easily arranged to have the keys left for us in a lock box. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we found Lugano utterly charming and scenic. The room is small by American standards, but spacious relative to what you would expect to find in larger European cities. I'd gladly recommend it to rail travels who are able to handle stairs.

The owners/managers here are extremely attentive & helpful. Our room was basic but very clean & comfortable. We had a huge balcony as well to relax on. The breakfast was delicious! We only stayed one night as we were catching the Bernina Express Glacier Express the next day. It was a quick walk to the train station from here.

Stayed for two nights, and we were kindly offered public transportation passes for two days. Parking was free on the street on Saturday after 18 and Sunday all day. The air conditioning is rather noisy and there is no fridge in the room, but other than that we enjoyed our stay very much. Quiet and neat rooms, small pool outside, short walking distance to train/funicular. Excellent service. Didn’t have breakfast but bought coffee separately, 3,50 CHF per cup.

Whilst there is a bus stop right at the front of the hotel. It is isolated if you do not have a car. The shop referred to is a hike up hill and not open all the time. The linen was worn out the towels so thin and small you could not dry yourself.The blanket had holes in it. The breakfast was ok but evening meals warmed up in microwave not freshly cooked.
