A lovely stay with amazing lake and mountain views and an excellent location

The lake and mountain view was amazing, and the balcony was lovely. The hotel’s location is very central. The bed was comfortable, and the wardrobes provided plenty of storage space.

There was an issue with the shower diverter, which made it difficult to use hot water while showering, as hot water did not reach the shower head. We informed reception and a technician came, but the issue was not resolved.

We left in an hour it was that bad. Also it was not refundable.

Nothing… Property is haunted, it was empty and fooling people with hundreds years old pictures… DO NOT STAY. !!!

Property was old, smelly, scary, it was more like a brothel than a hotel, it’s disgrace that it’s on Booking.Com because booking.com has a reputation and they are spoiling it. We booked looking at pictures which looked decent but upon arrival, they have baby pictures on the reception background, area was broken, hotel alleyway had wardrobes, clothes rails with drama attires and it was disgusting, i did not expect booking.com to keep this hotel in their suggested list of hotels in the area… DO BETTER !!!

For a 1 night stay it was okay; the amazing view makes it worthwhile

Location and amazing view. Room is spacious with cute little balcony. Breakfast was good with relatively everything we needed.

Unmaintained toilet - shower head couldn’t be placed on the pole and we had to keep holding it while using it, and the shower leaked water from below the glass shield.

Happy with my choice - great location and good price

The location was superb - 5-7 minutes walk from the train station but also from the funicular that takes you to Monte San Salvatore - the magnificent viewing point.

The staff working in the breakfast area didn’t sound very cheerful or happy to be there during our stay - it gave a bit unsettling impression. The service was indifferent to the customers. It is important to mention that one of the hotel workers was coughing in a bad way for at least 30 minutes(perhaps not a cold and just too much smoking and nothing to worry) and then went to the kitchen. Usually when one is sick - they don’t go to the kitchen where the food is cooked?

Location is great, views are awesome.

Property is very very dated. Mold and cracks everywhere. There is a night club on the ground floor. Which is not communicated upon arrival. Parking is not on location but across the street on a commercial parking garage. Photos available online do not represent the true reality of the hotel quality and characteristics.

Quiet, comfortable stay in faded glory old hotel next to lake

Faded glory hotel, dated furnishings, crunchy carpeted floor. But comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, quiet, close to lake and tram. Good breakfast, with view of the lake--though I found it curious that they expected us to cook eggs in a machine with cold water!

A unique experience

The central location

It seemed like a mixture of a family home , small children’s stuff everywhere , lots of clutter all over the hallways , and it was like a fawlty towers on speed .. signs outside for a nightclub , then some strange Lord Tillingdon restaurant which just doesn’t fit with Lugano . Sloppy spray painting everywhere .. and it’s a pity as the location is wonderful and if a good hotel inspector and interior designer came in it could be great. Very old fashioned bedrooms, with old VCR under television in bedroom .. went out of date 20 years ago . A cupboard with minibar written on it but just a blank space when you opened the door . A lot of posters of children stuck to pillars and posts .. private stuff . Just off the wall! Sorry but that was what we got .

I thought hotel is the big building in the pic but it’s not. it’s the small one. bed not comfortable, when I walk there is noisy sound and I can hear upper room steps, bathroom was not good when I took shower water is not going inside. also, I saw hair in different areas which mean it was not cleaned well. all need renovations. breakfast is same every day, we need to boil the egg and no one will make omelet if u want. I saw hair in breakfast buffet as well.

Pleasant

The hotel was in a nice location close to public transport, beds were comfy and room was fairly clean, for a place to sleep and shower it was great as spent most of the time in lugano. Old style carpets and pictures which were nice. I would likely stay here again in future visits.

Little run down if you really look into things, cabinets chipped/cracked, tiles cracked etc but for the price you can't really complain, no kettle in room and breakfast was pretty standard, bread, croissant, eggs, ham and cheese and a few cereals.
