Beautiful city and excellent appartment.

Fantastic location right in the middle of the high, old part of Bergamo. Huge number of restaurants, cafes, and bars nearby and easy access up the hill and back down into the more modern part of the city. Appartment is excellent, well equipped and well looked after. Had everything we needed.

Perfect location

We loved this apartment! The host, Renata, was very friendly and accommodating . The two bedrooms with an additional sofa bed was perfect for our family group. The furnishings and decor added an authentic ambience in keeping with the character of the location. Artwork adorns the walls, some wonderful pieces are by our host , and there was every thing we needed for our short stay: kitchenette, washing machine and espresso machine. But by far the biggest advantage to this apartment was the location: on the Main Street in the old town, across from the beautiful Chiesa di Sant Agata nel Carmine and near Piazza Mascheroni. It is a short walk to the bus station to the airport or train station. I wish we had stayed another day. It’s a wonderful base to explore the beautiful old town of Bergamo Alta.

Nothing. Be aware that the Main Street that runs past the house can be very busy, especially on the weekends, but we found that by bedtime the chatter of pedestrians had disappeared completely

Absolutely perfect

Exceeded our expectations in every way. Host met us and took us to the apartment. Right in centre of old city. Communication was the best of all accommodation in Europe. Highly recommend.

Mammamia has a great location in Citta Alta

Mammamia has an excellent location and is well appointed. It is spotless, and Renata, the host, is both friendly and a good communicator. The balconies provide an interesting viewpoint of the busy street. For those who want breakfast in-house, there are shops close by. (There are, of course, several places to have breakfast within 1-2 minutes walk). There are several top-class eateries within the immediate area ... or indeed at the top of the funicular. The Baretto di San Vigilio is worth a visit. The airport transfer with a private driver (and keys) for late arrivals is a boon. This was my 5th visit to Bergamo: Mammamia was very good indeed. 🙂

Not a big problem, but the second bedroom is small for 2 adults: there is ample wardrobe space elsewhere.

Beautiful Apartment in a fantastic location

The apartment was big and spacious with everything we needed right in the heart of the old town. The beds were super comfy and there were lots of extras that made it feel like a home away from home. Renata was a fantastic host & helped us out with everything we needed. The apartment is on a busy street so you can hear all of the local life passing by below, this was not a problem for us.

Spacious apartment with very caring host, just had noise and light issues at night.

Renata went out of her way to make sure we got to the property as easily as possible and was probably the most responsive host on booking.com I have ever experienced. The location was pretty good as well - definitely steps away from the key areas in town so it was perfect for a one night stay.

We come from NYC and live in Manhattan so are definitely used to a lot of street noise from outside and light however even for us this was a little much. The room didn’t have air conditioning which is fine but since it was located on the main street in town so with the window open, the noise continued at least till 3am. It’s also situated literally right in front of a street light - we recommend heavier curtains to block out the light at night. Thankfully we had eye masks and ear plugs but without them sleeping would be very hard. You also have to do your own dishes and follow very specific trash disposal rules - that’s fine for Airbnb or a hostel but not so much for a booking.com stay. Also if we had more time we’d consider staying in the area at the top of the Funicular but this location was perfect for the time we had in Bergamo.

A most enjoyable stay in Bergamo Alta.

The location, just off Piazza Mascheroni, was perfect for exploring Bergamo Alta. Transport links to San Vigilio (funicular) and Bergamo Bassa and the train station (bus) are just a short walk away in Colle Alto. The apartment was sweet, very clean and well equipped. The owner, Renata, went out of her way to return an item we left behind by mistake.

We didn't mind the absence of a lift, but if you have limited mobility be aware that you have to climb stairs to reach the property, which is two floors up.

Central and lovely, we were very happy to stay here.

This is a lovely apartment in a central location in Bergamo Alta. Everything to see and good places to eat were immediately nearby. Our host, Renata, couldn't have been lovelier. She maintains the apartment impeccably and is a talented artist (her work is on display). She was also flexible about arrival and departure arrangements. Super-clean, well-equipped, comfortable for three people. (I also loved her Danish Modern dresser, which is in the photos.)

The apartment is on the main street in a busy area, so it's a little noisy if you have the windows open, which isn't necessary in the bedrooms. They were doing street work while we were there, so that was the source of a lot of the noise. We slept well, regardless.

We had a cozy stay in the heart of Bergamo’s Città Alta, Renata was a wonderful host and we had a warm welcome even late at night! As it was in such a central location, you could hear the bustling life outside, but we didn’t mind and had no trouble sleeping. Walking distance to everything in Alta and the funicular that takes you up to San Vigilio. Would stay again!
