Not what I expected.

Gian was very pleasant and accommodating when we met him to check in. Location was excellent!! Close to shops and restaurants. The town is charming.

The loud adjacent bell tower ringing throughout the day and into the evening was a big negative. The four flights of stairs to get to our room was a negative. I should have asked for a lower-level room. Would prefer more than one towel each for the three nights. No instructions for returning the keys when we finished our stay. Bed was very low to the ground. Hard for seniors to use.

A friendly welcome in the heart of Bergamo

The location was superb, only a few minutes from Piazza Vecchia. The manager was very friendly and greeted us on arrival. They also minded our cases on the last day. The building is beautiful dating from the 15th century. There is beautiful artwork and exposed original stonework.

Could be a little noisy when other guests were coming in but it's an old building so to be expected. This was not a big issue.

Nice place, great location and friendly host.

I booked at the last moment due to being let down by another place in Bergamo. The host was really helpful and the room was huge with a comfy bed and a sofa, table and chairs. Also a fridge. I was given a recommendation to a great place for dinner where I had an excellent meal.

It was little dark in my room (it was autumn). In summer the sense of being a bit in a cave might be lovely!

Spacious but disappointing apartment

Excellent central location within the walls of Cita Alta. Clean, spacious reception rooms. Large clean fluffy towels.

My daughter & I took the last available room which was a spacious apartment, with a mezzanine floor with 3 additional beds. However, the interior was dark & outdated with lots of unnecessary clutter - stamp collections & endless books etc. It was colder than outside. The apartment was clean but the kitchen cupboards & microwave were not clean. The cooking hob could only be used on low settings or risk causing power failure & the toilet had to be flushed super gently or it overflowed.

Loved the location and property could have been brilliant but was all a bit outdated and shoddy.

In a brilliant location

Shower over bath was unsafe with no hand rail or support. The toilet spilled over when it flushed. In the kitchen was a mix and match poor quality crockery and cutlery. The owner was away on holiday so no breakfast available and only a contact number.

Friendly informative messaging before my stay, in the beautiful, historic building, perfectly located to visit beautiful

Beautiful, traditional building in the heart of the Citta Alta.

The sheets and pillows had a stain which looked like rain had leaked through previously, leaving a musty smell. Staff are not on duty- so issues need to be dealt with by messaging or email.

The location at the heart of Citta Alta, close to bus routes to travel to station to visit Milan for the day. Friendly and helpful staff

Very good

The location of the apartment is perfect if you wish to stay in the center of the old town of Bergamo. In spite of the central location there is no traffic noise. I did not take the breakfast so I can't rank it. I had a two room apartment on the second floor. You have access to a small garden that you share with the family who lives there and other guests.

The description of my apartment said there was a balcony. That was not the case. It was also said that there was channel tv, but you only had the possibility of watching italian channels. Some other things missed according to the description, for example a microwave oven, a desk etc. but that did not mean so much to me. You must be aware that the old town of Bergamo can be very crowded, especially in the weekends. And as other guests have observed the bells of the churches will ring very loudly at 7.30 in the morning.

Historic atmospheric

No breakfast supplied which we didn't realise ut we would rather make our own arrangements sat in a lively square next to the cathedral for coffee magical. Loved the church bells the building its history we r not good with google maps and three lovely young Italian lads walked us to the property utterly charming and a credit to their area owner was waiting despite us being late the apartment was so central in old town which is where we wanted to be taking our time over a couple of nights in city alta nice balcony don't bypass this for busy Milan local children doing history projects in the square very much part of the area

Really enjoyed our stay in Bergamo

We booked a standard double room but when we arrived we had been upgraded to an apartment which was spacious, clean and a very comfortable. We did not book breakfast however there was an option if required. Host was friendly and attentive. The accommodation was in a great location and central to all the main sites, piazza’s, shops, restaurants and bars and would highly recommend

Lovely being in the centre of the old town

We had a studio with a terrace in this old building with a central courtyard. You don't get much of a view from the high windows, but the room itself is full of character. We enjoyed our own breakfast on the terrace. There is also a small garden for guests to use. No air conditioning, but we found this large stone building quite cool considering it was 35C on some days. The location is excellent for the old town. It is a quiet area apart from the 7.30am alarm call from the cathedral bells! You are very close to everything, including the funicular to the lower town. The number 1 bus is an excellent service connecting Bergamo airport, the train station and the upper town. The owner is very helpful and, living on site, quick to respond to requests. We had a lovely stay here.

Blankets are old. The shampoo is old. No TV. Breakfast is standard. We were leaving at 3 o'clock in the morning, the owner promised to give breakfast to us, but didn't give anything.

the noise was constant until 9.30pm every night and day. for a holiday place, some quiet is necessary. wifi is hit and miss, takes you off. through the night couldn’t access and was really important as different time zone, frustrating.

The host was so welcoming and helpful - thank you! The room was spacious with a kitchenette. Nice furnishing and antique decor.

The kitchen table is really small - I don't think it can take more than 2 people. Bergamo old town has basically no free parking, which we knew, but it appears that on a Friday evening even paid parking places are very difficult to find. It all goes back to normal around midnight when people leave.
