Beautiful apartment

Location was amazing. Apartment was very spacious and equipped well. Breakfast items were provided and service was top notch.

Only slight issue is heat in bedroom. It can get warm even with the aircon.

Perfect holiday in a stunning medieval city

Perfectly situated in the Upper City, lovely property, very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The addition of the little terrace was great and the views from the apartment were fantastic. A small supermarket is next door selling all the essentials, plus on the ground floor is a place to grab breakfast, and an Irish bar across the street for drinks at night. Directly opposite from the Funicular. It’s the perfect place in the heart of Citta Alta. The host allowed us to leave our luggage as we arrived earlier during the day, which was a great help. The breakfast the host provided was such a treat and great not to have to go out shopping instantly. We took a trip to Lake Iseo, which was around an hour away and was stunning. So easy to travel around from here. Absolutely perfect place. We had the best time! Thank you so much Paola and Beatrice.

Perfect location

We were very pleased with our stay. The location is perfect and the house is really cozy! Paola gave us good tips about the area. We used the offered transfer from and to the airport and she had a child seat in her car for our little child. The included breakfast was good.

perfect place

Paula was a very welcoming and great host. She was very informative and it was easy to contact her.She met us personally and let us check -in the flat earlier upon our request.She gave us information about some cafes and local restaurants around .We had lunch and dinner in most of them and they were very very nice places. The flat was amazing, spacious ,very comfortable , large ,well decorated with nice furniture, very clean .There were views ( very impressive ) from three different sides. There was a nice , very clean bathroom ( with all the amenities you may need ) and a small nice balcony. The fridge was full of various delicious breakfast items( we were three, we could not finish them )like eggs ,milk ,fruıt juıce ,different kinds of cheese and cold cuts..... everything you may wish to eat. There were also lots of biscuıts, cakes, cookies ,corn flakes in the food basket and different kind of jams and honey and drinks, ( of course this place is not a hotel so you should not expect hot food for breakfast ). The flat is in the heart of citta alta ,just the opposite the funiculare so it was so easy to get to the citta bassa.Very nice cafes, bars , restaurants and shops all around within minutes. Thank for everything Paola. You should know, it is on the third floor without lift( it was not a problem for us but may be a problem for some others)

Great location just near the arrival of the funicular, basically in the center and close to everything. Two level apartment, everything needed. Great breakfast left in the refrigerator/kitchen - more than enough.

Safe gates for the steps for small children would be a good add, but we had managed with our 2-years old just fine.

Very helpful and friendly host, central location

Paola was a very friendly, helpful and organised host. She informed us of parking possibilities well in advance and met us at the garage. The apartment is as central as you can get in the Citta Alta. We used the apartment only for sleeping, there’s a nice bar downstairs for breakfast coffee and evening drinks, every sight is within walking distance.

The apartment was pretty OK for a family of four for 2 nights. It’s on the third floor and there’s no lift and there are stairs within the apartment, this was perfectly okay for us, but it might be difficult for less sporty people …

5 night break in beautiful Bergamo.

Paola met us at the rail station and took us to the apartment for a small fee, well worth it. The apartment was on the third floor with no lift, could be a problem for some people but we managed fine. Ideally situated opposite the funicular station in the Citta Alta so easy to find bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and a small supermarket almost next door!! Italian trains are brilliant so you can easily visit either leg of Lake Como very cheaply or Milan for some serious shopping. The apartment had everything you need for a comfortable stay and a well equipped kitchen if you want to self cater. Paola was fantastic throughout our 5 night stay and took us to the airport for our early return flight, again well worth the cost. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location in a lovely ancient city!

Large flat at the top of an old building with views of the old city. Comfortable bed. An abundance of breakfast food provided. Great value! Central location near the top of the funicular but very quiet. Our host was extremely kind and generous. she even offered us an early morning ride to the airport!

We loved it, but be prepared to carry your bags up the stairs. The price of a scenic old building!

Perfect location. Our breakfast requirements for a child was complied (sereals and lactose-free milk).

We have missed one evening of our stay, because door locker got broken, and we were locked inn in the apartment for 3 hours, before fire brigade could open the door. We had almost missed our pre-ordered table at the restaurant and our mood was spoiled. But we didn't get offer about ANY compensation. About equipment, there is just one adapter at the kitchen, so you can use just one equipment at a time. There is no paper towels in the kitchen. Breakfast was not estimated for 5-nights stay for 2 adults. As regards airport transfer, we got info at it costs "mer eller mindre 20€", but we were charged 30 €, though we arrived at ordinary time (8.00 p.m.).

Beautiful stylish but cosy apartment in an excellent location in the old town with super views. Paola, the owner was very helpful explaining things and giving us tips. Great variety of breakfast items supplied too.

Smell of cigarette smoke from other apartments did permeate into ours, but it’s difficult to see how that could be prevented.

The location was excellent: easy to take the bus from the airport and then funicular. It was nice to make your own breakfast with no hurry. There was plenty to eat in the fridge. We got nice recommendations of the restaurants from the hosts.

I would like to hang my towels in the bathroom. Maybe some hooks on the wall?

Casa Vacanze Funicolare is placed in the heart of Citta Alta. We had only a couple of steps to restaurants, coffee places, and shops. Funicolare is also right outside. There's nothing to add regarding the place. It's perfect for 4 people, very well equipped and clean. We loved it and will recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Bergamo.
