Amazing stay at the Castlereagh guest House. Kitchen was well kitted out for Breakfast condiments. That means you could have your breakfast at night (Bread and Eggs for me). The loft room was lovely. A bit chilly, but that's the way I like it.
Absolutely impressed. I'm thinking of booking it again in a couple of weeks for another four days.
House was spotless and everything you needed was laid out for you. Even bathing towels. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean and you got a text message with entry details.
Came back from work and noticed that someone must have come in to ensure the bathroom and kitchen were clean.

The only good thing was the breakfast, with the fridge being well stocked. Being able to walk to the city centre was doable. Handy that it was close enough to the George's Market, which is a great place to eat.
The room was mouldy in parts, around the window and by the wardrobe. The bed was uncomfortable, small and mattress was paper thin. The heating was on far too high so we had the window open, the room probably needed fresh air anyway, there was an awful old/fermenting smell when we arrived. The shower also jumped constantly from freezing to roasting so that was another treat to enjoy.

Location
The bread had expired
The kitchen did not have salt
Too difficult to contact the concerned person
Bathroom wash containers are broken
Shower in one bathroom is useless
The place needs a maintenance before letting out again

WHAT BREAKFAST????
EVERYTHING , we had to wait until the owner came to let us in(1 Hour) when we were let in the " kitchen" was a self service area,No staff. The bedroom was like a barrack room with MINIMAL fittings, and the bed was an "OLB IRON FRAMED" affair. To say it was a "RIP OFF" is putting it mildly.

We stayed in Belfast for 2 weeks and explored the region by public transport. The guesthouse is located in Belfast, in a loyalist/protestant neighbourhood. The first impression coming from Germany was not really good. Streets (Castlereagh Street i.e.) were dirty, many houses were rundown, lots of Union Jacks and murals everywhere...there is also a protestant bar in the street, people were enjoying themselves drinking and singing loud when we arrived. But then we got used to it. Neighbours were friendly, greeting us everytime. The backstreets like Cherryville Street were better, people are building new houses. Ormeau Park and the Lagan Valley are not far away to have a run. For travelling by bus and train the guesthouse was really good. Lanyon Place Station is just a 20 min walk, there are many bus and glider stops within a 10 min walk. Very positive was having a kitchen. Since we stayed for two weeks, it was very handy having a fully equipped kitchen. The washmachine was also great and the host provided a clothes horse. The host tried always to help and was friendly. Just once I couldn't contact him, the first night trying to open the keypad. But then after 10 min it somehow worked.
The guesthouse has seen better days. It's a typical working class house, now divided in 5 rooms, 2 toilets/showers, one kitchen and one living room. Our room was on the ground floor: confortable for the heavy luggage, but directly at the street, so that we heard everything happening there. The bed was too small and very uncomfortable. It sounded everytime you move and you could feel the springs in your back. There was no wardrobe, no cupboard. We couldn't watch normal telly, it wasn't available. We watched the BBC on the App. That was alright. The description is misleading, as there is no private bathroom attached to the room. See screenshot attached. Breakfast wasn't either as promised. There were lots of jams but if you prefer a savoury breakfast, there were just eggs. Plenty of them. No cheese, no ham, eggs everywhere. There was just sandwich bread, not fresh bread as depicted in the pictures. There was also just one kind of tea (in the pictures were more sorts).

when we arrived we opened the bedroom window and the room was filled with the smell of someone smoking drugs in the garden. When we went downstairs the next morning as we reached the landing it smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke even though all the windows were open

Booked to attend a concert in ormeau park Very close and easy to walk to. Lots of breakfast options in the kitchen. Good contact via email and what's app by the host.. Very Clean

Easy to check in, well supplied kitchen, clean.
Lots of narrow stairs, no dishwasher.
Neighbourhood is very unionist and militant, which is interesting from a cultural perspective but I wouldn't feel safe if I had an Irish licence plate or just look foreign.
Also I don't understand why the owners felt the need to denounce the supposed kill count of the IRA in the entry code.

Location was spot on and the amenities were brilliant

It's one of the worst places I've ever stayed. The walls are full of cracks, everything is covered in carpet that never gets cleaned, and the beds are very uncomfortable. The bathroom is shared and was two floors down, with a lot of black mold, which is toxic.
The so-called free breakfast is just whatever they have in the kitchen, like coffee and a few cereals — it's absolutely not worth it.
The staff is nonexistent. I tried to talk to them several times because I forgot my pillow, and they completely ignored me — they just kept brushing me off. I would never go back. It's the worst place I've ever stayed.

The overall experience was very professional, and the self-serve breakfast was great and generous.
It’s a no-frills accommodation, but no-one expects that. Some rooms looked very small, but again that’s quite normal. We had the 3-bed bedroom at the top and that was spacious enough and completely fine.

Easy to get to and from locations and on a quiet street.
Didn’t see anyone else in the property so didn’t feel like we were sharing the bathroom with anyone
Quite cold elsewhere in the house apart from our room which had a heater. Everything else was brilliant.

Check in and out was all done by ourselves, made it very easy. The host was amazing, there was a full continental breakfast in the morning with access to eggs in the fridge, all vegan and vegetarian options available too. It was a very comfortable house, very quiet, TVs in the rooms but there's also a lounge which was cosy. Towels and hairdryer provided. All in all great value for money.
There was only too things, it was a little chilly, so heating could do with being turned up a bit and there was one shower that didn't really work, but these are very small details and didn't make our stay any less comfortable

Breakfast was quite enough for just what needed. Room was comfortable. A few issues getting in but these were sorted quickly !
Shower in the first shower room was not working great but I did get into the second bathroom and had a good shower there.

Self check-in was very easy and well described/communicated by the host. Our room was spacious, the bathrooms extremely clean, and there would’ve been an option to prepare some meals in a well-equipped and neat little kitchen too, we always went out for breakfast and dinner though. The apartment is just about a 15-20 minute walk away from the city center, so we liked that aspect too!
Our room smelled like mold and, while the floors, bed and desk area were very well cleaned, the side shelves looked like they had been forgotten in the cleaning process - there was a lot of dust and a few hairs on them.

It was close to a bus stop. The shared kitchen was well stocked and clean. It was reasonably quiet.
The description is nothing like the place. It was not clear that the bathrooms were shared by all the guests.
The room is very small, with nothing more than a bed, a small nightstand, and a banquet hall type chair. There was no decor. The bed felt like a camp cot. The mattress was thin. It squeaked everytime we moved. The carpets were very worn and stained.
We could hear the person in the next room snoring.
