The Customs House Hotel

Comfortable and good sleep

Tbf weather was the reason as there was a storm happening but lovely place

Lovely old historic building and updated beautiful room and bathroom. Right on the water - charming location

Be prepared to bring your own food- know that there aren’t any places nearby to go get a nice dinner esp during the week or after 7 pm

Fantastic location. Secure and quiet. The communal sitting/dining room was a game-changer, once we realised it existed (we hadn't seen any info to tell us about it).

Cracked basin in the cold bathroom. Loo was not easy to flush. Although it looked as though it had been recently decorated, the paint was flaking in places in the bathroom.

Breakfast which we prepared ourselves was adequate.

The Hotel/Hostel is unmanned. Never saw any staff cleaning or otherwise whilst we stayed on the premises. Had to enter three codes before gaining access to room. Felt vulnerable whilst in the room. did not see any contact number in the event of requiring assistance or information. The owner/s have spent a lot of money fitting out the bedrooms which are comfortable. It is an ex commercial building converted to provide sleeping accommodation so it is entitled to call itself an Hotel. It is one Hotel that we will not be revisiting.
