The food was excellent. The lady who looked after us was really lovely and the lady who cooked was a superb chef
Shame about the inclined path and steps to the entrance which is tricky with a suitcase.

The hotel was warm and cosy in a wonderful location. Run by Sarah & Cathryn, the friendliest most accommodating and hardworking couple you would ever have the fortune to meet.
You can tell they have been successful in this business a long time as everything just works. The highlight of our stay were the breakfasts which Sarah cooked to PER-FEC-TION! Even if you can't stay here, go and eat, my goodness.

Service could not have been better, the ladies were very helpful, breakfast outstanding, rooms perfect, location fantastic. Ask for a parking permit for the nearby car park.
Not much not to like! If any one has mobility problems then it is not accessible, however the hotel tell you this when booking.

Carhryn & Sarah were great, very attentive and friendly. Very clean, lovely linen and great location for exploring Lynton/Lynmouth.
Twin room was right at the back of hotel, by a massive wall, no views at all and minimal light. I think it was the sewage system that bubbles and gurgles all the time. Can’t keep windows shut as too stuffy. Shower not very powerful, struggle to wash long or thick hair. Same price for this room as a double with a view.

The lounge, the seaview, typical décoration, the location close to harbour
Very simple and small room but we knew it before coming. The bathroom’s ventilation of the neighboring room was a bit too loud and woke us up earlier than we wanted

Good variety on offer for breakfast
Later breakfast would have been better only offered 8-9am

Lovely elevated location very close to everything with beautiful views from our bedroom, dining and living room.
The hotel was quiet and private.
Breakfast was tasty, freshly cooked and generous. The coffee kept flowing! We didn’t eat in the evening as we were out and about but other guests recommended.
We really liked the four poster bed which was very clean and quite a feature. It was a real attraction to the hotel along with the lovely reviews. The sea view was fab from the comfy chairs and bed
The hospitality was great. Carolyn was very accommodating at every opportunity and knowledgable about the area.
Minor thing was the size of the bathroom. It was bit of a squeeze to get ready in there as small however it didn’t distract from the lovely room and our stay.

The hotel is perfectly situated for hiking parts of the SW Coast Path. We did three great hikes from the doorstep and didn't use the car the whole time while we stayed here. There is a large choice of breakfast options and the delicious cooked breakfast is freshly made. Very sweet owners which give the stay just that bit of extra. We booked an additional dinner twice during out stay. We recommend it!
For us ....nothing. We had a great time. We saw in other reviews the stairs towards the hotel were mentioned as an issue. When you're able to climb regular stairs, there is no problem at all.

The setting, the view, the host, the cleanliness, the decor, the atmosphere, the breakfast, the comfortable beds.
All made this the most perfect of places to stay, great value for money, a home from home set in an idyllic setting.
The only downside to this wonderful hotel would be access for people who struggle with the steps to the entrance. But this is pointed out by the owners.
Other than that it is the perfect stay

Our second visit. Larger room this time (a suite). Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything we needed and more
Nothing much. Some loud music on two mornings at around 8am. Not sure where coming from but didn't really spoil the break as we were up anyway.

The breakfast was 5 star preordering the night before ensured you got what you ordered. Eggs done how we asked.
We did preorder the beef rib saying it was braised for 8hrs unfortunately this was quite fatty and needed a bit longer for the meat to fall off the bone. It tasted lovely and the vegetables were supreme.
