Beautiful traditional family home with breathtaking views, surrounded by vineyards. It is perfectly located close to the Douro River, the wineries and all the local attractions and activities. Enough room and bathrooms for everyone. The setting is wonderfully peaceful. Both during the day and after sunset, the views are simply magical. After busy days exploring the Douro Valley, this was the perfect place to unwind and relax. We loved listening to the birds and the crickets and on both evenings we were even visited by a fox—a truly unique experience. The host was exceptionally friendly, welcoming us personally, showing us around the property and even providing a few thoughtful groceries on arrival. We felt at home immediately and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We were a group of eight, which worked perfect in terms of bedrooms and sleeping arrangements. For a larger group however, the house would start to feel quite crowded. The kitchen was simply not equipped for a group of this size. For example, there were only two wine glasses—which is quite surprising in the heart of a wine region. There were in general, not enough kitchenware for everyone. A simple trip to IKEA to buy a complete set of glasses, plates, bowls, and utensils would make a huge difference at very little cost and would greatly improve the guest experience. The pool is really more of a small plunge pool than a swimming pool, so it’s best not to expect too much from it. We stayed for two nights, which was perfectly fine. However, because of the limited kitchen facilities and the tiny pool, we wouldn’t consider it comfortable for a longer stay with a larger group.
