Very historic and authentic. Pool area is beautiful and large. Very private and picturesque. Lots of rooms for a big group and all en suite.
If staying in a big group for the entire place, there is a lack of inside communal space except from the dining room.

This is a spectacular 17th century Quinta which was tastefully updated in traditional style by the owners. We really enjoyed staying in this fabulous historic building, and in such beautiful rural surroundings. The garden and pool area is very pleasant to chill out in. The room and beds were comfortable and we slept very well. Clara and Jerome, who are multi-lingual, were so helpful in offering information about local walks and places to visit, and had a pile of maps and books for us to consult. It is a family friendly house, and had a lovely warm atmosphere.
They do not provide evening meals, but there is a lot of choice in the surrounding villages at no distance. Breakfast is traditional continental style, with lots of local meat, bread, cheese and fruit.
We would certainly love to visit again if we were in the area.
There was nothing we didn't like, but perhaps there should be a warning about the rough stone floored entrance area and central courtyard, which might catch people unawares, and cause a fall. That being said, there is a side door which you can ask to be opened to accommodate those who are less able on their feet! High heel wearers beware!
My second warning is to those who may have heightened photosensitivity or epilepsy..... the house lights are run on solar panels and the room lights flicker annoyingly occasionally (the owners are trying to fix this at the moment). It didn't bother us, but could be a trigger. Not sure if it is in every room, but ask Clara about it if you think it will be an issue.
