Quinta da Salada - Turismo Rural

Our stay at Quinta da Salada was amazing. From the moment we arrived, the views were breathtaking. Check in was easy and the owner gave us an overview of the property and amenities as well as plenty of recommendations for the area! The breakfast was fantastic each morning on the terrace - a lot of options to choose from and made to order scrambled eggs! The wine was fantastic and we loved the ease of the wine fridge to enjoy a glass whenever we liked. Snacks and lunch are available to order throughout the day, we had a delicious cheese board. There are so many fantastic areas to relax and take in the scenery! We really enjoyed our stay and are already talking about returning!

The location is easy to access from the main road, but you definitely need a car to explore the area or get to restaurants for dinner!

Hidden gem. Marvellous place, with amazing views. This is perfect place to wind down in the afternoon or all day. Quiet.

The pool was lovely and relaxing. The grounds were groomed nicely. The head house staff was so kind and welcoming.

As a traveler without a vehicle, I would never of booked this property. It is very far away from the train station, and quite remote. Walking the grounds isn’t really possible as it has a private entry up a steep road so there was no value in leaving the property without a taxi. The bed was not comfortable, and it smelled like damp mildew in the room. As a traveler who has stayed in vineyards and farm stays, more value could have been added to the trip by providing free bottle water and a bottle of wine for the stay. Instead, everything was à la cart. The concept behind the stay is there, but the small details surrounding it are not, a free transfer, wine, and snack service 24/7 (at least packaged snacks) would have made this feel more like a farm stay and homey.

BF was superb and the service excellent! The place has a beautiful scenery. If you care about scenery only, I recommend this place. Otherwise, is overpriced for the type of accommodation it offers.

The Quinta does not have a private toilet. The bathroom design is an open concept with no door, but only a glass separating the room from the bathroom. Therefore, there is no privacy! The room is small with very little space for luggage. Not a place to sit. Not even a welcoming glass of wine upon arrival. We ordered a board of cheese and cold cuts that was overpriced ($40) for very little food and nothing extraordinary. The hot tub located outside the property was out of order. I was really looking forward to use it.
