Fantastic property for a large group (including Stags/Hens) looking to explore York - whether in the day or for the nightlife. The location is excellent, central to lots of attractions, restaurants, the Shambles, and nightlife - as well as having the scenery of the river and a nice green area on the doorstep too. It's also only a short walk from the train station.
It's a clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well-equipped house, with enough beds for 9/10 people to sleep individually, or a larger group if including couples (bare in mind there's two bathrooms if your group needs time to get ready). The kitchen is large and equipped to cook a meal if you need to, but our group just used the house as a base and went out. Booking the property provides one permit parking space, which allows you to park in spaces in front of the house, or on streets in the vicinity - this was really convenient and a big saving on the public car parks!
Credit to Becky and Paul as hosts, though we didn't meet them, they were really helpful in messages with lots of suggestions on where to explore, and quick to respond to all messages. Thank you for a great stay, it worked brilliantly for our Stag weekend, and I felt this accommodation provided excellent value for money.
Nothing to complain about really - the mattresses on the bunk beds were ok, but not the comfiest (but the bedding was fine) - maybe a mattress topper would help?
If I'm being really picky, we couldn't find a pizza wheel in the kitchen (we got by!) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The property is large and spacious and in a very good area for the city.
The beds were atrocious. There were 2 double beds and 3 sets of bunk beds. The bunks squeeked even when my 19 month old grandson sat on them and the mattresses were very very lumpy. I had 2 heavily pregnant women in our party and they barely slept while they were there. I was treating my family to a trip to a festive trip to York to also visit family. It cost nearly £1000 for 2 nights and I could not be more upset that they were both in quite a bad way through lack of sleep, the rest of us coped but were not comfortable.
