So beautifully decorated, really liked it and hosts were communicative

We loved the decor and the privacy it offered. Everything we needed.
The only downside was no bath, however this was our fault as we didn’t check before booking

Beautiful interior, lovely bath and felt like a big space. Great location too.
Would have been beautiful apart from the cleanness. I read reviews from over a year ago about a drain smell through the property, hoped it would be fixed, but the smell was so strong. We had to go out for food because of this. The plates and bowls were dirty. We found old vapes under the bed side table along with so many crumbs. The overhead sun light made it quite difficult to fall asleep. Have included a photo taken at 11.30pm.

Beautiful design great location
Hot water was limited before it would go cold in one go, so 2 of us couldn’t have a hot shower one after another

Great location, easy access, lovely apartment. Nice and clean and gorgeous decor.
Previous guests broke tv in the bedroom which my husband and I always go to bed with tv on and nee tv wasnt delivered yet. Not hosts fault but dissappinting. Pillows were not comfy and not enough way to soft woke up with a headache and neck pain but bed was comfy.

The location was very central, check in details were helpful and clear, it was spotlessly clean and decorated tastefully.
The lack of kitchen facilities. No proper fridge or sink.

Perfect location, luxury feel, spacious, peaceful - all round excellent stay.
Vent above the bed blew cold air all night. Oven was incredibly difficult to use. Needed a dustpan and brush and a kitchen roll.

Location and style
When we arrived the rooms were freezing wasn’t sure if I had the heating on properly so phoned the office they told me it was all in the instruction book even tho I had already read it and told them that they then said it takes a while to heat up The place finally started feeling warmer around 10pm a good 5 hrs later the toilet and toilet floor was ice cold so wanted hot shower to heat up. After around 20 mins of being in shower the water goes freezing… also we cleaned round the fireplace that was in bedroom as it was thick with cobwebs And couldn’t find anywhere to put our clothes so had keep them in suitcase

The apartment was spacious, the bath tub in the bedroom was lovely, bedroom was comfortable. The location was great
The apartment (especially the kitchen) smelled strongly like eggy drains despite all the air fresheners. We were welcomed with a 3/4 empty bottle of wine in the wine fridge. The outside area isn't what it seems on pictures and no seat cushions anywhere for the outside seating. Despite the apartment having cooking facilities the only things in there were a tea towel and washing up liquid, even just salt and pepper would have been nice! The main issue for me was in the bedroom there is a large glass tiled opening in the ceiling that is essentially the pavement/street outside, there is a streetlight above it that let's alot of light in at night and you cant cover it up. There is also ALOT of noise from the street into the very early hours from people frequenting the pubs/bars. Considering the cost (£350 for 2 nights), i could have dealt with the noise given the fantastic location if the light could be blocked out and the other issues were addressed. For the money I expected much more, which is a shame considering the location as we wouldnt stay again. Oh also, I stayed with just my husband so we didnt use the pull out bed/sofa but if your staying with others and fancy some alone time, the full glass wall/door separating the bedroom from the rest of the apartment will certainly put a dampener on that!!

Nice decor with bath in room but quite small
Fridge stank and even after cleaning stank as clear milk had been spilt and lingered in there for a while. It was also incredibly noisy and therefore had to sleep

In city centre
Smelled terrible - either bad damp or sewage - smelled it in my bedroom and my friends bedroom
7.0 / 10.0
The location was perfectly central - 10 minutes walk from the train station, 5-10 minutes walk from all the popular spots.
Facilities of the apartment were good - spacious, nice bathroom, large living room and bedroom space. Easy to get in & out.
Cleanliness wasn’t as expected for the money we paid - lots of dust / cobwebs, the bedding had the musty smell as if it had been cleaned days ago but hadn’t had anyone stay there since, so it didn’t seem like it had been refreshed.
There was a smell of damp/drains in the entrance to the apartment and the kitchen, which appeared to be masked by a de-humidifier & scent sticks.
We also didn’t realise the apartment (with terrace) was actually in the basement - the bedroom was under the street pretty much, so lots of noise from the street and shop above, and it means there’s no windows. The light from the street also comes through the floor and no way to block it out. Therefore neither of us slept particularly well.

Location was absolutely perfect
Shower didn’t run away quickly had to stop half way through to turn it off
8.0 / 10.0
Fantastic location, seemed very modern and up to date. Easy to use very well presented
When you walked in it smelt quite fusty and you couldn’t open the windows to air the apartment out. If you had a shower the extractor fan didn’t really do a lot so it made it feel quite damp and if you weren’t carful the shower would flood the bathroom

The location was excellent - really close to everything.
Great apartment with everything we needed.
We had to have super quick showers as it wasn’t draining.

The property was a great location and room was spacious
The couch was dirty in areas. Bed had long black hairs in and neither me or my partner have black hair. Apartment was super cold and heating isn't adequate for the size of the room. Mugs were super dirty.

Great location, in the heart of the City
Not much. Slightly odd that there wasn't a sink in the kitchen area or a small fridge other than the wine cooler. A chest of drawers would have been useful too. The stairs could be a challenge for some guests.

The location was great and the amenities couldn’t be faulted. Nicely decorated.
It wasn’t the cleanest. There was a lot of cobwebs and up the stairs there was a lot of heavy dust/clumps of hair and even broken glass. There were toe nail clippings in the living room and bits of food and cocktail sticks down the side of the sofa.

Very smart apartment, clean and comfortable. Great location.
Wifi wasnt reliable, heating took a long time to warm up the room and we failed to get the underfloor heating to work.

Gorgeous decor in these centrally located rooms in York. Perfect for a trip to the city centre.
Can be a bit noisy at night due to the very central location.

The instructions were very clear with individual PIN codes to access each part of the building.
The location was perfect for us.
Our room was called The Booksellers and was out the back through a walk way and we both said how quiet it was for being in such a busy area! This was great as I have mobility issues and we didn’t have to climb lots of stairs and was very convenient!
We loved the room as it was comfortable and clean and we loved the decor.
We would definitely visit again!
The only thing would have been an outdoor sensor light for the walk way in the evening.

Great city centre location, close to everything. Large apartment with glass doors dividing the sections to cut out the noise from outside.
For the price I would expected better cleaning standards. Sofa had a number of stains and blond hairs found around the apartment. No microwave or dishwasher in the kitchen which is fairly standard in all previous apartments that we have stayed in.

We have the most spectacular view of the minster at the same time we didn't feel I've looked ourselves. Shower heat and water pressure second to none and the bedrooms underfloor heating was a nice suprise for my partner's forever cold toes.
Only one very small suggestion would be to have a curtain in the bedroom door way to block morning light. But apart from that it was an incredibly comfy bedroom

Property was lovely and clean and very central. Close to all amenities. Well equipped.

The location was very good for exploring everywhere in the centre. The welcome pack was very useful.
All the codes made getting in a bit of an effort but it meant the property was secure. It was very quiet - the beer garden near our door was not in use so this may be different at other times of the year.
Lighting getting into the property - the path to our door was dark. The bathroom door was tricky to open.

It’s close proximity to shops, bars and amenities
Amazing view of the minster
The stairs to the apartment are very steep
The shower room leaked through to the ceiling of the downstairs apartment , however this was sorted out quickly ( blocked drain)

Location was good, but could be a bit noisy at night.
Room was very nice, bed comfortable.
Staff via email helpful.
Bathroom lovely, body wash smelt amazing. Shower amazing.
Its a nice hotel room, not an apartment
I didn't know there would be so many stairs to get to room, 3 long flights of very narrow, very steep steps. I really struggled to carry my case, and wouldnt have booked it if I had known.
Room was nice, cushions dirty but rest of room nice.
Toilet mental low, at 5ft tall. Even friend found it low.
Im not sure its suitable for people with any mobility issues.
Not an apartment, it's a nice hotel room with ensuite

The Coney Street apartments were perfectly located for exploring York, in a very central location just a short walk from the Minister, Dungeons, Viking Museum and lots of great bars and restaurants. Lots of information was provided ahead of time which made check-in clear and easy. The owners also provided some good suggestions for places to eat and drink. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was very spacious and had everything we needed for our 3-night stay.
Our only disappointment was the cleanliness of the room. The sheets and towels were fresh however there was quite a bit of dirt and dust on the floor of the room and mold on the bathroom extractor, plus a few stray hairs in the bath and on the upholstery. Nothing significant but enough to be quite off-putting. The coffee machine was also extremely grubby and in addition had old water left in it (as did the kettle) - although it actually didn't work in the end which was a real shame as we would have liked to use it. We would have also appreciated a few extra towels and pillows for added comfort although what we were provided was absolutely fine.
