The Room was perfect, Location is a short 5 minute walk to the train station. A stocked and very clean Kitchen was great, Deborah the owner is very nice, she takes great pride in making her property beautiful. Full disclosure there is a bar on the first floor so you hear people talking till late in the evening. If that doesn’t bother you the property is perfect. We would stay again.

Wonderful guest house. Word to the wise, not a quiet spot. It's right on a main path for foot and auto traffic with an Irish pub below. The noise did not bother us one bit. The hostess, Debra, was very sweet and helpful. Kitchen is stocked with sweets, coffee and tea. Wine available for purchase. We loved it.

Ideal location in lucca. The host, Debora, was very welcoming and helpful. Nice, spacious room with bathroom. Tea, coffee and snack facilities provided. We had front room which did get some street noise but, otherwise, excellent.

The owner, Debora, was simply amazing, very friendly and proud of her hotel. It had all the accommodations and some extras. We could use the kitchen, had free coffee and all kinds of fountain water, free foods and cookies. The room was really, really nice and we will definitely stay there again when we decide to come back.

We had a most wonderful stay at Perle d’Ambra. It’s perfectly located near to the station and piazza Napoleone we had a wonderful welcome and Debora was kind, flexible and gave us great recommendations. Would definitely stay again!

We loved Lucca so much more than expected. The location of this place is fantastic. If you bring a car you do have to park outside of the walls but cost wasn’t bad (8 euros a day). The rooms are impeccably decorated. The beds are very comfortable. Debora was very friendly. Unfortunately due to covid we couldn’t get breakfast in the place which I think would have made the experience nicer but she did give coupons to use at a patisserie. We slept in too late for breakfast our first day so we only went once but the pastries were delicious. Note, while the bathroom is very nice - the shower is very tiny, I hit my arms on the walls when I lifted my arms to wash my hair, which is probably just a function of Lucca being a very old city. The only thing I wish she would change is you have to tell her exactly when you are going to arrive if not you might get stuck waiting outside on the street with your bags. This is problematic because it’s nearly impossible to know the exact time of arrival when you are traveling. She should at least have some sort of waiting area. Luckily the cafe next door let me use their toilet! However I would still come back and rebook I would just give a larger window for time of arrival. It’s a really pretty and thoughtfully decorated place.

We had an amazing stay at Perla d'ambra. The room was very confortable with a large bed and a brand new bathroom. Debora was a lovely guest. She helped us discover the city and was very acvomadatimg for checkin/check out. Highly recommand !

We were lucky enough to spend a week at Perle d'Ambra mid June and it was the most amazing stay. Debora and her family greeted us on arrival and they could not do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. They made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is lovely and authentic, very comfortable, exceptionally clean and in a fantastic location close to the railway station (which we used every day to get around.) We very quickly felt at home. I'm a little fussy and the room didn't have a full length mirror when we arrived so I made a suggestion to Debora (prompted by Hotels.com to provide a first impression) that some guests would find it beneficial to have one. Within a day, she had contacted me to say one would be fitted and lo and behold there it was when we returned after a day out. Lucca is a stunning town made even more special by our stay at Perle d'Ambra. The guest treatment we received went above and beyond expectations and we can't recommend this place highly enough.

The location for exploring Lucca was fantastic. We opted to have Debra provide breakfast, which was really convenient to have, right next to our room in the communal kitchen - an excellent deal for so many offerings (eggs, toast, croissants, fruit, cheese, meat, coffee, etc.) and delicious! Guests can use the kitchen anytime to grab a coffee or cookie etc. Debra was very responsive and helpful - provided restaurant recommendations, etc. - and she is a delight! I would highly recommend this guesthouse. (You have to carry your luggage up to the second floor - no elevator - but this is very common, and was not a big deal.)

An absolute gem of a place to stay. Five stars in all respects. And Debora is an exceptional host. She not only takes delight in ensuring her guests are in every way comfortable. She also came out to help us when our rented car broke down and the car rental company were impossible to get hold of or deal with. A real super host.

Debora was an exceptional host. She made the checkin very easy. The property is beautiful and very clean. The kitchen had everything you could need and more. Loved the water machine as well as the coffee and breakfast options. Debora helped us arrange a car rental and allowed us to store our luggage past our checkout time. Lucca is a beautiful must see town and Perle d’Ambra will not disappoint. So pleased with our stay here!

Welcomed by friendly and accommodating hostess who is a delight! She’s took great care to choose the European decor. Well-appointed kitchen with fruit, croissants, snacks, treats and a gorgeous water selection, hot teas and espresso. Convenient. Get your parking at the public parking garage so you don’t feel rushed. Great shopping and wonderful eateriese all inside the historic walled city.
