The place is located perfectly, for a tourist. If you have a car, you need to park it about 500m in a parking house. The standard room doesn’t have air conditioning, which can make the room too hot at the summer. Breakfasts is well, and the their restaurant are making pleasant food.

Great walkable location. Comfortable quiet rooms and friendly staff. The included breakfast offered a good selection. Our room was off a floor the elevator serviced which was helpful with our luggage. Some rooms will have to be accessed by stairs if in-between which would have been inconvenient.

Really enjoyed our short break in Salzburg at the Altstadthotel Stadtkrug. We stayed in an apartment, room was great, comfy, clean etc and in an ideal location close to Mirabell Gardens and old town etc. On a pedestrian street, so taxi from airport dropped us at bottom of road, a couple of hundred metres walk, no problem for us but could be if you're not so mobile or have a lot of luggage. However when we left, hotel booked us a taxi and they came right to door, so may be better to contact hotel for airport pick up as they know taxi with access past bollards etc.

We had an amazing stay at the Stadtkrug. The staff was very helpful, confirming our stay via email previous to our arrival. The check in and check out process was very efficient. We had two king rooms with easy access from the elevator. The rooms were serviced everyday while we ate breakfast. Breakfast was a selection of breads, meats and cheese as well as cereal and yogurt. Eggs were available, made to order. Our only issue was the number of steps entering the building, reception area and the restaurant. People with mobility issues must take care in accessing these areas. The location of the hotel to the old town and Christmas markets was excellent. It was very easy to navigate.

Highly Recommend Hotel Stadtkrug for your stay in Salzburg!! Our stay (2 nights) at Hotel Stadtkrug was a delight. From check-in through check-out, the hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Smiling faces greeted you as you come and go. Breakfast was excellent with exceptional staff support…loved the eggs made to order and as much coffee as you needed!! The room was comfortable enabling a great night’s sleep and a bathroom to match that was clean and easy to use. Housekeeping kept our room clean and tidy which was welcomed. Easy to access from any drop off point coming from the train station or airport. Plenty of shopping and restaurants less than 5 minutes away. Wonderful walk to Fortress Hohensalzburg where you have amazing views along the way. You will be in the middle of everything!! Definitely will stay here again next time in Salzburg!!

Okay where to start, be prepared to park your car and walk 10 min walk from a parkade with your suitcases. The hotel is okay, the floors and walls are thin so you can hear all the others luggage rolling all night. Food in Austria sucks.

Great location, lots of character building. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Included breakfast was very good with cooked to order delicious eggs!! On property restaurant food was very good too. Shower was small and water was leaking on the floor when using it no matter how hard we tried to close the door tightly. Not defective, just not a fancy shower. We had a comfort double room- good size.

This hotel is located close to everything. The moment you walk out the door you are in the middle of Old Town. Very quaint and quiet area and we were only awakened by the sounds of chirping birds and the bells ringing from the many churches. Loved the hotel. It’s very old, but comfortable and “warm and fuzzy”. The staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure you do the Sound of Music and Salt Mine tours. Tickets can be purchased at the hotel and the pick-up and drop-off area is walking distance from the Stadtkrug.

This hotel is in a great location just a short walk from the old town. It is on a nice pedestrian street with shops restaurants. The staff is exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was a nice European style buffet with the normal meats, cheeses, breads and made to order eggs. The building is old and has nice character but is well maintained. There is an elevator in the reception but you still have to go up and down a few steps. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t mind a few steps and doesn’t need to park next to the building.
