Excellent hotel with beautiful views of the lake. Well worth paying extra for the view! Staff were friendly and helpful and recommended several things for us to do and places to eat. Train up the mountain is a must.

Well renovated historic hotel, now a part of Marriott family. Keeps the flavor of old times. Lakeview room balcony provides amazing site from the balcony. The restaurant is not bad for the dinner. Two days spent at the hotel were easy and undemanding.

Lovely view from our balcony and the restaurant terrace. Quiet room other than noise from floor above. Very soft bed. Poor bathroom design with unsafe shower over bath arrangement and trip hazard. Staff giggled when I mentioned the bathroom - apparently most have the trip step into the bathroom! Very convenient for the station. Fab food if expensive in 45

Location is great and the rooms are clean but pretty basic, not even a coffee machine in the room. The reception staff are polite but very slow and there is always a wait for the elevators as they are also used by hotel staff to transport linen etc. Definitely not value for money, at that price range you expect a lot more.

Receptionist was warm and welcoming, and provided clear and helpful hotel information during check-in. All the hotel staff we encountered were professional, but also friendly and approachable. Really enjoyed having the lakeview from our room. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. Located directly across train station, which is very convenient.

Superb location, it’s just across the road from the Train station. We had a corner Lake-view room and the view from the balcony was just gorgeous. Could see a long stretch of the Waterfront promenade, from the balcony. Staff was helpful at all times, Alex at the desk was particularly helpful and efficient. Overall, a superb experience.

Next to lakefront and room had nice view but unless you were dining at the restaurant there didn’t seem to be a place to enjoy the view from the public space/lobby of the hotel. Bar is right off of the reception area and is bery bright/not much ambiance. Service was good.
