Conon Hotel

It was beautiful and the staff was outstanding! We loved our room. The attention to detail was outstanding example the shower was amazing.

Friendly staff, warm and clean , good location for exploring area or going to Belladrum as we were ! Very good breakfast but pricing structure a bit mean …..see below!

Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is well kept and quiet, rooms comfortable, warm and clean. We only ate breakfast as we were at Belladrum all day. The only suggestions to improve and reflect the room rate we paid would have been - - have some chilled bottled water in the rooms - refresh rooms each day with clean towels , more teabags etc - perhaps have a little homemade tablet or similar in room. There was one packet of shortbread but didn’t feel very special - breakfast was the the main issue - the food from the menu was lovely, but when you have paid £400 for a 2 night stay I don’t expect to be charged for an extra breakfast if I want a small amount of fruit and yoghurt before my cooked breakfast! The buffet was sparse , only packets of cereal- no yogurts or fresh food other than a bowl of pears and tangerines. When I explained to the staff member I wanted a little yoghurt followed by a breakfast roll she said I would be charged for an extra breakfast even though breakfast was included in our room rate. I did challenge her on that and she said she would ask her manager. However on checkout, the “extra”breakfasts had been added on ! Just felt a little bit tight when most decent hotels would offer more on the buffet anyway!

Staff were friendly and amicable. Rooms were well laid out with modern amenities. Breakfasts were well presented and tasty.

All rooms were located over an active pub. Being an old building there was very little noise cancellation. For our stay, this led to late outside patron noise and early kitchen preparedness noise, limiting our sleep. Internal doors did not offer enough sound proofing leading to our children being woken overnight by noisy guests. While not able to sample all of the evening meal choices, between the four of us, those we did all tasted like they had been cooked in an air fryer, regardless of what was chosen.
