Unique castle with all the features and we had a four poster bedroom. The staff were lovely and friendly. Comfortable bed, clean, and good quality Elemis products. Good shower.
Unfortunately there were a few issues for us. Chipped cups in the room which I took down to get replaced. We had the half board booking and the chips at dinner came out luke warm which I sent back for hot ones. Breakfast didn’t come out fully as ordered but by then I couldn’t be bothered to say anything as the worst thing for us was the room we were in - number 7 - was by a noisy pump/unit and we discovered it happened every time the water/shower was turned on and toilet flushed. Not just from our bathroom but other rooms too. I did call the receptionist up to hear it but we hadn’t realised it was a water pump causing the noise and it didn’t happen when he was in the room. It did lessen as people went to bed and stopped using the water, so we had a relatively quiet night until the first one got up in the morning when it started again.
I was really excited to finally stay a castle - a real treat for us. I’m really not a hard to please person but because of the high price of this stay I guess I had high expectations and I felt quite let down by our stay there.
