First of all everyone was amazing during our stay! They helped set up an amazing engagement surprise in the dungeon. Even from miles away , have always been kind and patient. I would recommend staying here to anyone I know , especially the balcony room! Even got a ghost tour and learned a lot of history ! (:
That’s not a question to ask when everyone here is amazing!

We had a lovely room on the top floor with a great view. The hotel oozes character and history. Lovely friendly staff and we had a superb meal in the restaurant. Good selection of breakfast buffet and great hot choice too.

Location and plenty of parking
Castle by name but not by presence, expected some sort of grandeur to the property but felt more like a dated old home especially with the room we were given. Didn’t feel like staying in a castle at all, dinner in the bar was very average and expensive for what it was considering it was two burgers and chips with two drinks for over £50. Sufficed to stay we didn’t opt to go for breakfast the following morning and stopped off at a local cafe instead as we continued along the NC500.
