About this lodge

Taigh Na Frithe is a 1 bed (kingsize) apartment on the edge of Fort Augustus, located at the southern end of world famous Loch Ness.

This apartment developed in 2019 is perfectly formed with a big comfortable bed, built in wardrobe, 2 person shower, large comfortable sofa and all the mod cons including washer dryer, dishwasher, microwave and TV/ music system.

The apartment has lovely views via full wall french windows which open out onto the forecourt and countryside beyond.

The town is a mere 10 minutes walk and is well served with restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and tourist attractions which include a certain monster.

This is a lovely place to stay, warm, all conveniences available, comfortable, with a great host. Fort Augustus is also a very good base for hill walking.

The lodge is well equipped and is in a good location, although it took us longer to walk to Fort Augustus than we expected. The owner is currently working on the outside of the lodge, but no enclosed space for our dog was an inconvenience. Overall a lovely home from home

The accomodation was great, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The surrounding area is superb, we spent a day at glen Affric which was amazing with the autumn colours. Thanks to Kyle for making ua feel very welcome.

We stayed at Taigh Na Frithe for 4 nights and had a fantastic time. The communication before and during the stay was extremely helpful and Kyle was extremely accommodating. We were really impressed by the cottages modern finish, especially the kitchen and bathroom, the massive bed was also a great addition. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It’s only a short 15 minute walk into Fort Augustus which has 2 cosy pubs, some lovely gift shops and the Loch Ness cruise. We cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning. Thanks Kyle!

We’ve had a very enjoyable stay (4nights) in this property and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. A great base for traveling around and Fort Agustus is a lovely village. The house is very well equipped, the bed is huge and comfortable. Easy to find, very quiet and peaceful. Kyle has been very helpful and accommodating.

We stayed for one week in fort augustus and had a fabulous time. The property is well equipped and a perfect location for exploring the surrounding Highlands. Fort Augustus is a lovely village with all the local amenities you could require.Supermarkets like Aldi or Morrisons are in Fort William which takes about 40 mins travel time...you can book a delivery slot however we were unable to get one for 14 days so I would suggest organising this in advance or taking shopping. That being said you can get shopping locally just not the selection or cost you are used to paying. We took our English bulldog and the property was very dog friendly, the surrounding areas too..Lots of pubs and cafes to sat outside 😑. Kyle and Nick were really helpful however we had no problems with this property. Thanks for a lovely stay!

What a lovely property. Plenty of parking and although close to a main road, you don’t notice any traffic noise. Ideal location for heading up to Loch Ness or down to fort William on some incredibly scenic drives. The property has every thing you might need for a short trip and we loved every minute of our stay here.

We really can recommend this cozy cabin. It was very clean and well furnished to feel right at home. You've all you wish for a stay. We cooked fresh every morning and evening and didn't miss anything. The fridge is big to store a lot of fresh food and beside that you have an hob/oven, microwave, toaster and kettle. Washer/Dryer is perfect for longer stays especially when the weather is hot and you need to wash some clothes. The living area with it's comfy lether couch is great for watching movies in the evening and it's possible to connect your own netflix, amazon, etc accounts with the TV. For music there is a docking station. Wifi worked great. The big shower with good water pressure is great to get a hot shower after a long day in the hills to relaxed your muscles. The bed is huge....you can get lost in it.😂 And comfy of course. The lights on the night stands are cool! Neighbourhood is very quiet. Fort Augustus centre is only 10 minutes away by foot. With car only 3 minutes. At Fort Augustus you have a small supermarket, gas station and some good shops. You can book cruises at Loch Ness, search for Nessie or enjoy the great woodland walks around Fort Augustus. The butcher's Black Pudding and Haggis is very good. Cheesy Fries at the Lock Inn are always great. Taigh Na Frithe is a perfect location, a cozy retreat for couples who want to explore the Highlands and have everything on hand you need for. We loved our stay and will come back some day. Thank you very much!

Stayed here for a couple of nights in mid summer. Beautifully maintained, huge comfy bed, top shower which is vital after a day of kayaking or mountaineering. All the mod cons, so can really settle in and make it your own. 5*****
