Don’t hesitate - if this property is available, and what you seek is a quiet unforgettable experience with an awesome view, this place is for you. Yes, as others mentioned, the place is a bit dated, and you won’t find any modern furniture, but in our opinion, it adds to the classic charm that the place is offering. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are huge, it was clean - so as far as the basics are concerned, you are more than covered. But then you wake up in the morning, you walk out on the porch, and the view will just blow you away. Unfortunately, the place was not available for a third night, but if it would have been, we would have stayed longer. We certainly felt sad to leave. Just be prepared for a bit of an adventurous drive up to Brunate. You can do some research if you will be up to the challenge; there are a number of websites that talk about it. I was a bit shocked the first time I drove up, and into the narrow alley where the house is located, but was ok the 2nd time around when I was a bit prepared. I didn’t feel like mentioning this as a negative. It is just what it is, and you should just be prepared.

There was no shower attachment, so we could only take a bath. I thought at first there was a problem with the bathroom fixtures, but no, all that is required is to get another shower head and install it. Hopefully the management company will fix this quickly.

The view was magnificent, and the history of the villa was interesting in that Mussolini had stayed there. The balconies provided for a spectacular morning coffee over looking Lake Como and surrounding areas!

The road was very winding and often you had to stop and back up to continue your drive up to the villa. A small car is necessary to make the drive less stressful.

The plumbing - the main bath didn't drain, so we couldn't use it, the upstairs shower sprayed over the floor. The pillows were lumpy. The only working coffee pot was inadequate for a large group of people which meant having to wait for it to cool down and remake coffee several more times to cater for everyone.

Das Haus hat einen ganz speziellen Charakter und ist eine Villa im wörtlichen Sinne. Die Terasse mit dem Blick ins Tal ist einmalig!

Die Amaturen im Bad sind antik, das sieht traumhaft aus ist im Alltag aber manchmal etwas mühsam. Aber ist es wert!
