Stayed as a couple and really enjoyed the stay. Tanja (Tanya) the host was very friendly and helpful and is a wonderful cook. The food was excellent. We had different breakfasts each day of our stay. We ate dinner one night, the tasty fish and wine was excellent value. All were presented to five star standards. The room was clean and had everything we needed. It is a studio apartment attached to the host’s traditional farm house in the hills near lake Skadar. (You can walk to lake Skadar if you wish to hike a short distance) We had breakfast on the balcony outside our accommodation facing the hills under a kiwi climber surrounded by grape vines. 😊 The family make their own wine and brandy in a cellar beneath their house the wine tastes excellent. Hope to come back to stay.

This is not something we didn’t like but - do not follow google to seek directions to this property or anywhere else in Montenegro as google is sometimes wrong and also shows the shortest route which is not the safest. Look at the map and see what other safe routes are there and ask local people. Driving in many areas of Montenegro can be challenging as it is a mountainous country with narrow roads and we got lost the first night we were checking in but the host came with one of her family members to a petrol station 5 km away to accompany us back to their accommodation at 11pm which was very very kind 🙏🏽. The road to this property is narrow and does not have a barrier in some places like any where else in Montenegro and so not for the faint hearted and get clear directions from the host and get their in day light hours the first time you go. Having said that I safely drove without a scratch on my rental car about 250km but I am 58 with long experience of driving 😊 but the food and stay and the host are worth everything

Excellent hospitality by host Tanja and her family - we were welcomed with a glass of homemade wine and absolutely gorgeous dinner with local food afterwards. House is located in beautiful and peaceful place in the mountains with nice view. There are great hiking trails nearby with rivers ar waterfalls. Amazing experience! Tip for finding route to the place - use OpenStreetMaps app, because Google Maps and Waze won't provide you the route to the Dupilo (look at the attached image).

Abbiamo trascorso 7 notti in un angolo di paradiso in Montenegro, immersi nella natura tra montagne e silenzio, ma a soli 30 minuti dal mare. Tanja e Dragan ci hanno accolti come figli, offrendoci colazioni e cene straordinarie, preparate con prodotti freschissimi del loro terreno!! La stanza era pulitissima, accogliente e dotata di tutto il necessario per un relax totale. Qui il lusso non è artificiale, ma fatto di veri valori umani, autenticità, natura rigogliosa, tanti animali, fiume e mare cristallini e sapori spettacolari!! Abbiamo notato la cura e la passione di Tanja per farci sentire come a casa senza farci mancare nulla! Non adatto a chi cerca solo comfort e lusso sfrenato, ma perfetto per chi vuole vivere la bellezza autentica con il rispetto per le persone e per la terra che vi ospita.

Era tutto perfetto!!! :D L’unico problema è stato Google Maps che evidenziava la strada per arrivare alla struttura in modo sbagliato.

Although the location might seem remote, is 100% worth the trip: the property is placed in front of a theatre view of a virgin valley, vivid example of the breathtaking nature you find in this country. The private room has its own bathroom, all necessary supplies and is clean and comfortable. But above all there’s Tanja, who will welcome you as a part of the family, with discretion and courtesy. She’s a wonderful cook, and very generous too: make sure to come with a large appetite! We really felt cuddled and taken care of, and I can tell you that’s the rarest and best feeling when travelling abroad. Her son Vladimir offers private boat tours on the lake: he’s an experienced sailor that knows the lake palm by palm, beside being super friendly. The lake tour with Vladimir was the highlight of our stay in the country! Totally recommend! Thank you Tanja, Vladimir and the whole family 🤍
