A central location, with a Booths Supermarket across the road. 5 minute walk onto the main high street. Free car-parking permit for the long-staff carpark, though the spaces on the Library Road car-park were very narrow. Used an alternative but still in town centre. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and milk was in the fridge on arrival, also some welcome biscuits. Hosts replied to messages very quickly. A lovely property.

This cottage really stands out among Lake District rental properties, particularly for its excellent value for money. It offers a unique blend of old and new, retaining the charm and character of an authentic local home while providing the comfort, functionality, and style of a modern renovation. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the personal touches throughout clearly show how much the hosts care about making guests feel at home. The location is ideal for exploring the South Lakes, and even iconic northern walks such as Aira Force Waterfalls and Catbells are within an easy one-hour drive. Communication with the owners was excellent - they were very responsive via text messages and quickly resolved any issues - thank you, Sean and Donna - we would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
The property is managed by Sykes Holiday Cottages, whose frequent automated emails cluttered my inbox. It’s unclear whether this level of communication truly benefits either guests or the property owners.
