courtyard cottage

Quaint, cute close to our needs for the weekend. Good for walks in the area

The property was in a private courtyard and the door was already open awaiting our arrival. Kim was warm and inviting, helped us locate the Cottage. The cottage had a quaint feel about it, cosy and well equipped, master bedroom was large and easily fitted the dogs bed in the room too. Was lovely to have a little garden with table/chairs to relax in (padded seating provided), some local milk was provided and teas/coffees and some cereal was also available. Location was very quiet too, perfect little getaway. Lots of walks for the doggo! Great information booklet with information around the local area.

It's not a "didn't like but more of an inconvenience" Parking at the property was a little tight - an allocated parking space was provided at the cottage and manoeuvring a larger vehicle such as an SUV (we had a Tesla Model Y), could be challenging due to the limited turning space when reversing out of the allocated space. Care needed to avoid nearby cars and the building opposite when leaving the space. It wasn't quite an Austin Powers style 20-point turn, but it did take a few manoeuvres to get back onto the main driveway. Don't let this put you off if you have a smaller car or have better spacial awareness than I! :)

Second stay at Courtyard Cottage and both were overnight stays only. The place is so beautiful, well laid out and equipped that it would be great to be able to have a longer stay. The rooms, the decor, the facilities were all top notch. It is an old fashioned stone cottage with a look that perfectly matches it. The setting is perfect, secluded and quiet yet near enough to easily get into Kendal. The host is unobtrusive but very friendly and easy to talk to. We stayed a second time precisely because the first visit was so impressive.
