Lovely friendly welcome at the property and literally one minute from a lovely walk down the wooded valley and river with water falls and the brewery/ pub at the bottom from their we walked in to Matlock bath

Stuart + Marta were excellent hosts . Very sociable and knowledgeable on local area . Room was really nice . This is also a very quiet location which was good .

The breakfast was very tasty made with local organic ingredients and included in the price. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The guest area has its own entrance. The breakfast area was nice. The house provides a lot of light even on rainy day and nice views of the garden. Very quiet neighbourhood. The location is out of the way but no problem if you bring a car. The town nearby is beautiful with lots of places to eat at and visit.

The room is quite cold the owner said its 19 degrees for perfect sleep but it definitely feels like 15ish. There was no place to "hang out" or even any places to sit other than the bed. The sitting area of the house with the fireplace was nice but it felt like it was not meant for being used by guests. The bathroom was also very cold. There is no kettle in the room but a coffee machine which didn't heat the water sufficiently to brew tea. The wardrobe is in the bathroom which is not ideal when it gets used and steamed up. The bathroom is spacious but doesn't have any surface to put your phone or a book or a drink or even a towel. The mattress is softer than we are used to but that may be OK depending on your preferences.
