    This pub is a good location and great value . The rooms are in a separate block to the pub ,not very far . The rooms don't have great sound proof as the family above kept us awake for well over an hour with the children running around

    If im honest my room was a little tired, although I didnt ask for another room or to be moved..soo maybe I should have. But the staf were simply lovely, extremely welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The food was delicious proper pub grub. I would love to return, but maybe to a different room x thanks again

    My wife and I booked a two-night stay here starting September 30th. After a 100-mile drive, we were exhausted and just looking forward to a rest. What followed was an absolute nightmare. First impressions of the room were terrible. It smelt strongly of damp, the bathroom was unacceptably dirty, and the furniture was well past its prime. The bed sagged heavily the moment I sat on it, but because we were so tired, we decided to just put up with it rather than complain. That was a huge mistake. At 1:00 a.m., after barely two hours of sleep, the bed frame completely collapsed and shattered into pieces on the floor. I was thrown violently from the mattress and trapped my arm against a nearby unit, leaving me bruised. When checking the wreckage, I noticed that neither the bed nor the mattress carried a "Crib 5" fire safety rating label—a strict legal requirement for all UK hotels and pubs. This isn't just poor quality; it is a massive safety violation. and the base was a very cheap chipboard frame that had already been repaired any time before To make matters worse, when we tried to get help at 1:30 a.m., there was absolutely no way to contact any staff in the building. Our only option to stay would have been to dismantle the broken bed frame, clear the debris ourselves, and sleep with the mattress on the floor. Left no staff to assist us, we were forced to pack our bags in the middle of the night and drive 100 miles straight back home. I have photographic and video evidence of the dirt, the broken bed, and the missing safety labels, and I am pursuing a full refund. but they do not reply to email or reviews, so I will be doing a chargeback against them via my credit card. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere safe, clean, and managed.
