About this house rental

It is an honour to have this property on our books.

Shore Cottage is situated across from Portree on the southern edge of the Bay. Sitting in the kitchen, lounge and Master Bedroom, you can see the Old Man of Storr across Portree Bay. A 3 bedroom property, 1 king size in the master en suite and the remaining 2 bedrooms with double bed, 1 of which is en-suite.

The master bedroom has a balcony over the high tide line with a view of Portree. The U shaped property, has a kitchen overlooking the bay, leading to a the dining room with high ceiling and mezzanine floor with seating area, a great place for children to entertain themselves, and up the stairs from the dining room. In the other end of the house there is a sitting room with amazing views over the bay, as can be seen from the images. The master bedroom's views will blow your mind.

Ideal for groups, groups of couples and families to come and explore the Isle of Skye from.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing. The space itself was beautiful with everything you could need. Extremely clean with comfy beds. Our favorite thing about our stay was lighting a fire each night in the living room and getting to watch the sun go down over the water.

The property was as described, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very spacious, giving everyone plenty of space for lounging and sleeping. The views were spectacular! The only problem we encountered was with locking the door. I had to call to find out how to do so, which was to lift up on the handle when locking. This would be helpful information to include in the check-in process.

After a two week trip through Great Britain, we ended our stay at Shore Cottage. We commented various times that we would have liked to have spent more days there - so relaxing and beautiful. It was very well appointed and clean. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property with extraordinary views. Great communication from property management company. Very nicely appointed kitchen. We used the washer/dryer upon arrival and they worked well. Highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is specactular cottage in so many ways: directly on the sea with a direct view on the Storr! It's huge with ample space for 3 couples or 2 families. Not far from Portree center if you have a car. Entry directives were clear but some equipment were very hard to operate and the people we phoned hag no clue what to do (they were not the owner). We also had to assemble the baby chair ourselves.

Perfect location to explore Skye! We had an amazing stay - the house was clean, spacious, cozy, convenient, and well-appointed. Loved being right on the water with gorgeous views of Portree and The Storr. 8 minutes to Portree, and easy access to the rest of Skye. Communication was clear and responsive. We explored quite a bit, but my kids said their favourite part of Skye was this cottage. One of the neighbours has sheep that come right to the fence which was pretty exciting for the kids also. We already can’t wait to come back!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, very handy for all the sights, walks and restaurants Skye has to offer. The cottage itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped with salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, dishwasher tablets and washing machine capsules. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay.

Shore cottage looked lovely online but was so impressive in person! Very private, safe, clean and cosy with every little thing we could possibly need. It was the perfect base after exploring the island. Loved the beach, loved watching the tide come in and the antics of the birds, and at night looking out for the Aurora. Very helpful and kind host also, would come back in a heartbeat, just loved every minute of my stay there 😊

We had a great time on Skye, staying at Shore Cottage. It was just what we needed as a group of 3 couples travelling by van. We were able to spread out and relax. the views across the water to Portree and the Old man of Storr, first thing in the morning was fantastic. Well appointed with everything you need, great cooking facilitys and washing machine etc, to catchup with the laundry. A great place for a relaxing stay.

I must say how amazed we were with the view of the water and the changing tide. The accommodations were fantastic, almost every need was at our fingertips. Our host Cat, was so helpful. I highly recommended this cottage to anyone who wants over the top atmosphere.

This was the perfect place to be when the weather is uncooperative! The views of the ocean, Portree harbor and Old Man of Storr are visible from the kitchen, living room, and upstairs bedroom and are such a delight! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of quality cookware and dishes. They even supplied detergent for the washer! The plentiful artwork was tasteful and well done. The owner thought of everything! He went above and beyond to provide a lovely home away from home!

Only 2 miles from Portree, the Seaside cottage was exactly as advertised on VRBO. It was spotlessly clean, and lovely in every way--furnishings, artwork, views over the water, every need met in the kitchen. We (3 sets of adult travelers) only wished we had a stay longer than 2 nights! The sunset on the second night was spectacular and had us all outside taking photo after photo over the water. Do not be alarmed as the roads become more and more narrow as you approach the property. We were wondering for a few minutes, where were we going to end up but there are signs, a good gravel driveway and plenty space for turnaround and luggage removal. It's a very scenic and quiet location:) Our only problem was not receiving the email that was supposed to give us entry info. Trying "the chat" function on VRBO gave us phone numbers and Kells responded with the info we needed after some anxious hours on the day of arrival. We still never got the email after that call, so we did not know what to do with our trash or bed linens. We made our best guess:) We would definitely rent this property again--it is perfect for multiple couples and made us want to "stay home" to eat at the table in front of that beautiful view:) Thank you for all the detailed items you provided:)

We were excited coming to this home just from seeing the pictures and location. When we first walked in and explored room to room, our already high expectations were exceeded! The outdoor patio, beautiful kitchen, the bedroom deck, the fire place, the bench by the water. We spent the first 10-15 mins walking around and admiring all the nice amenities and great decor. You could really feel like it was a home and not just a rental property thrown together. We spent our nights in the living room by the fireplace admiring the mountain and water views out the window. The owners even welcomed us with a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. We’re already talking about coming back. Thank you!

This beautiful home with rich history provided a wonderful stay for our large family to stay and explore Skye as it’s an easy 2 miles from Portree. The home allows for separate, private spaces and centralized gathering places. The home boasts beautiful views from many of the rooms. The host is very responsive and very friendly. We stayed for 5 nights at Shore Cottage and it's the perfect location to launch tours/activities when on Isle of Skye. The place has incredible views looking back to Portree, plenty of room and really has everything you need. Very comfortable and great place overall. The beauty of Scotland is something else.

This is the kind of place that even a wealthy person could brag about. It has easy access. The kitchen and bathrooms were well appointed and supplied. Each room was either en-suite or the bath was within steps. The beds were all very comfortable. The entire place was very clean. The parking was large and we were able to park near the walkway for unloading. Directional signs were well posted, all the way to the cottage. The views of the bay and the water fowl pleased the teenagers. Overall, it was an excellent property choice.

A property that even a wealthy person would brag about. It has a beautiful view of the bay, with water fowl for the kids to watch. The telescope was used by our teenage granddaughters each day. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen and baths were well appointed and supplied. The parking area is large, but we were able to park near the walkway for easy unloading. And all contacts and entry information was accurate and worked smoothly. A very excellent experience.

This is hands down one of the best rentals we have stayed at. After being in closer confines with our teens, we arrived down the long and winding road (thanks to excellent directions) and were blown away. This house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space to spread out and all the amenities you could need. The kitchen was lovely, the beds comfy and the views were gorgeous. This made our time on Skye.
