The location was fantastic as it was north of the train station station....close enough for quick walking access, but far enough from the fray in the middle of the day of the main town of Vernazza. There were nice places to eat at restaurants underneath the accommodation. We didn't end up eating there but would gladly have if it fitted our schedule. There was a one person elevator if you needed it. The place was clean, and comfortable with the windows open for cooling at night. They had a nice glass bottle to put in the fridge (worked great!), glass mugs, & wine glasses too. The bathroom was clean, and it was nice to have the small balcony to dry our hand washing. We didn't sit out there but I loved having the breeze cool the room. The decor is nice, and the long counter top, shelves and closet for hanging clothes worked well. The owners were very responsive with messaging.

The A/C did not seem to work. When we arrived, it was quite hot and humid that day. The next 2 days, it wasn't as hot and we were able to cool the room down with opening the window and the balcony door that was off the bathroom (yep, that's how you access it). When we arrived, and to pay the accommodation cost, they said the machine was not working and they wanted a bank transfer. We didn't know how to do that and then realized it was much more complicated for us, because we were not set up to transfer money from Canada internationally. The final night we were trying to work this out with the owner and they said we still had to do the bank transfer. I spent a fair amount of time researching this and realized I couldn't do it (didn't have 3rd party app set up either) and I either had to arrange a bank transfer from Canada (that would cost me a significant bank fee) or they would have to accept our credit card and process that. It says on the property details that they accepted credit card. They did process the credit card on the day we left but I was stressed and didn't learn this until the next day. This really put a damper on our last evening working on this.....but I'm glad they accepted the credit card for payment. They were polite in all our messaging. Thank you for this. Lesson learned for us: If booking a non-refundable booking, make sure you choose pre-payment and it ensures that booking.com processes your credit card.....then no issues.

The property was in a great location close enough to train station, eating and hike access but slightly away from main crowd. Great breakfast spot located across the road.

When we arrived we were greeted by someone outside the complex who told us there was something wrong with our room and told us we had to stay in another facility they managed. While the staff was friendly I found this pretty unnerving especially as we had been in contact with the host multiple times that morning and they never bothered to mention it. The room we were moved was pretty similar to what we had booked we didn’t make a fuss. I would say the biggest difference is that our first booking had an extra bed as we were three of us and in the new room they had a set up like a temporary bed on a like a camping mattress that was incredibly uncomfortable. Not much sound proofing - could hear other guests talking, walking around and even ‘doing the deed’ on both nights of our stay (though this is ultimately not within the hosts control).

Great location to the train station and trails. A/C worked well even in the summer heat. WiFi worked well. No real view from our room but it was great for a short stay. Very quiet town.

No view. Very quiet town after 10:00pm. The local train stops at 11:30pm making it difficult to go to other more lively towns for dinner and drinks. But we knew this in advance.

Too noisy to get a good rest (noisy fridge, some constant water pipes noise and electricity (?) generator noise They don't clean the cups over the day although it's impossible to wash them by yourself since there is no kitchen The hairdryer is a joke The luggage storage is a separate service if 3eur per small bag and they keep it only until 3pm I understand that a big part of the price is due the location but overall too many inconveniences regarding the public transport disruptions and lack of proper luggage storage (not host's fault, just a personal conclusion) so I don't think it was worth the money
