Central Vernazza Budget Rooms

Great stay in Vernazza. Clean room, excellent location, fair prices, and a very well organized check-in system. The Welcome Book and the WhatsApp virtual assistant were extremely useful and made everything easy during the stay. One warning: the neighbor, who owns another guesthouse nearby, tried to convince us to cancel and book with her instead, speaking badly about this property. Ignore it, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.

We had a really positive experience. The room was clean, modern, and in a perfect location right in the heart of Vernazza, just a few steps from the train station and the sea. Even though it’s on the main street, we slept well and found it very convenient for visiting all of the Cinque Terre. The check-in process was organized much better than in many other places we’ve stayed. Everything happens online in a simple and fast way, with clear instructions sent directly via WhatsApp. At first I was a bit skeptical about the automated assistance, but I have to say it works really well: the menu is intuitive, and whenever we needed to speak with a real person, we just clicked “Chat with an operator” and received a reply within a few minutes. I really appreciated the fact that they modernized the management without losing the human support when it’s actually needed. Perfect Wi-Fi, cool room, clean bathroom, and excellent overall organization. For the prices you usually find in Vernazza nowadays, this place is truly a rarity. If I return to the Cinque Terre, I will definitely book here again.

The only negative thing was Barbara, who lives across the street. She is a competitor, and whenever she sees you arriving, she tries to convince you to cancel your reservation and book with her instead, at double the price and only in cash.

I had a wonderful stay and felt very comfortable throughout my visit. The location is fantastic — just a few meters from the sea and surrounded by great bars and restaurants. Despite being so central, the room was very quiet and peaceful, so I could relax without any noise. The view is also beautiful and makes the stay even more enjoyable. I really appreciated the affordable price, which is possible thanks to the smart automated system. There is an intelligent virtual assistant available 24/7 that responds quickly to any request and also provides helpful recommendations on what to do in the area. It makes everything very convenient and efficient.

Fantastic location. Close to train station and a great base to explore. Room and toilet were clean enough with clean sheets and towels. Bed is comfortable enough.

Check-in is a complete and utter shambles and ‘fines’ are in place to trick the unsuspecting tourist. Quite basically, these rooms follow the same pattern as all of Cinque Terra - how can we rip-off tourists? If you do not check-in between 14:30 & 20:00, you are ‘fined’ in increments. If you are half an hour late, you are charged an extra €67, if you should dare to check-in after midnight, you can expect to be charged a whopping €250!!!!! The property will no doubt respond to this with a load of waffle about ‘policies’, but it is literally self check-in, no further action on their behalf is needed as you check yourself in. There is no need to charge extra as no other admin is required. We were also on edge the whole time we stayed in case we left the room in any other way than was dictated. We decided to video the room upon leaving so that we did not incur an extra charge. Air-conditioning??????? No! We had a cheap fan that felt like we had employed a small baby to blow on us all night. Cheap??? I suppose €70 per night was cheap for Vernazza, but this is only because Cinque Terra likes to take advantage of tourists by over-inflating their prices in the first place. Italy, if you don’t want tourists here, perhaps don’t offer accommodation in the first instance? Lock does not work for the bedroom door from the inside. Try to contact? No, just a ‘bot’. Try the ‘emergency’ telephone number? No, again the system does not want to connect you. Finally, contact Booking.com to raise concerns? Who contacted us 24 hours later, and guess what? They could not get a response either! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Would I stay again? No, not even if you employed more babies to cool us down! You should be ashamed. And, I look forward to your ‘woe is me’ response.
